Greedy middleman
It is diabolical to charge a cleaning fee AND expect your guests to do the cleaning. Check in/out times are 4&10 (not 3&11 like a hotel where you’re not expected to clean). The property management company, a local real estate office, sent exactly 10(!) emails the day I booked. 3 more emails followed the next day I checked in. It was mostly about how I needed to make the process smoother for them and their cleaning staff. The emails strongly discouraged any ideas one might get about requesting an early check in, late departure or checking one’s bags. The sheer number of emails involved in what should be a simple transaction added unnecessary stress to an impromptu weekend getaway. On a strict time crunch they stress what’s expected of the guest in terms of cleaning and rules but failed to simply provide a parking pass where the emails stated it would be. A parking pass had to be delivered and my booking the day prior was blamed. Last minute revenue should be welcomed not blamed for their inability to follow their own email procedures for check in. Never could get the TV/router combo to work. No instructions were provided. The emails were a total turnoff and being expected to clean is why I try to avoid places like this. The whole vibe that the guest should be making the process as easy as possible for their business model is just arrogant. They email you ready made excuses against any sort of flexibility on arrival/departure times. I didn’t need either but WOW!
