This private wooded paradise is perched on the gorge just a 7 minute walk from the restaurants and bars of the Downtown Ithaca Commons. Cornell and Ithaca College are just a 20 minute walk away as well. Hike the Mulholland Wildflower Preserve and stunning 1st Dam just down the street. Guests have been loving the 1 bedroom "Urban Cabin" in the same house since 2016. So the hosts have opened up the entire 2nd floor apartment for visitors to enjoy the soothing sounds of the creek and gorgeous surroundings. The largest bedroom has a balcony overlooking Giles Street.

Nice Location in Ithaca
We had a charming stay in an old nicely remodeled upper apartment in Ithaca. At first I wondered about the creaky floors, whether we would be warm in an old house, etc. All fears were allayed. The house is perfectly comfortable. We walked all the waterfalls of Ithaca without ever getting in our car. It was a high step day, but very enjoyable. We especially enjoyed the 'not so well-known' Wells Fall that is right down the street from the property. It was one of my favorite falls!

A lovely location for an Ithaca Weekend
We so enjoyed our recent stay. The house itself is charming and well equipped. The location was close to downtown, but up against 6 mile creek, so we fell asleep listening to the crickets and the wind (we were in the back bedroom, some unavoidable traffic noise was present but it didn't bother us at all). I heard an Eastern Screech owl in the backyard, which was an unexpected treat. I walked to the vet school every morning for a conference, and we walked downtown at night for dinner. Parking was easy, although we really didn't need a car at this location. Communication with the host was quick and easy. Thank you for a great stay! I hope to come again one day.

The perfect hideaway
This is a very comfortable farmhouse-style apartment. We loved the antiques, the spacious rooms, and all the little details, like a nightlight in the bathroom. It was a quiet street, with all the needed provisions in the bath and kitchen.

Great place to reconnect with Ithaca
We loved our stay here. I graduated from Ithaca College in 1989 and this place was perfect for our family to be within walking distance of downtown. The owners were friendly and responsive. The apartment was old but clean, and reminded me of my apartments during college (in a good way). It’s not fancy but it worked great for us.

Very clean and comfortable. Pretty wooded backyard with a stream. Our stay was for 2 nights, so we did not make use of the kitchen appliances. Nice location close to downtown.

Beautiful location, very accomdating host
Communication with Alicia was great. She went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. The space was very clean and was stocked with what we needed. We had our infant with us and there were baby gates and a pack and play available. The views and outdoor space was beautiful, with a few places to sit above the river as well as a trail down to the river near the property. The location was perfect for walking to restauarnts and coffee at the commons, and Alicia provided us with many recommendations. We hope to be back to stay again!

Great spot for college visits
Thank u for beautiful and quiet spot to come back to after walking the hills of Cornell all day. Loved all the nature right in town and this apartment really highlighted that. Easy parking was such a plus! Love the mud room to organize the gear. We had everything we needed. Apartment is great for visiting Cornell or Ithaca. We did not walk to town or Cornell due to length of uphill roads, but easy to drive and pay for parking elsewhere. Thanks

Nice Urban Getaway
This place is a gem! It’s not fancy or frilly and it’s a bit tired but for us that was perfect. No worries about messing anything up. Very easy to keep clean. Great for our family of four. We like “no shoes worn upstairs” - keeps it clean! Nice organic shampoo/cleansers, etc. even extra toothbrushes and trash bags provided. Towels aplenty and lofty. Great communication with rental company. The place had everything we needed. One point of caution which was actually nice but important to know about - WATER WAS VERY VERY HOT! Don’t flush toilet during shower. But the upside was plenty of hot water which was great for cleaning and a family of four - much better than the opposite right!? Just be careful. Beds were firm and solidly supportive, not too hard; and I have a bad back. I was happy with that. WE WERE VERY PLEASED WITH THIS UNIT both for the value and the location/experience. We hope to rent it again on a future visit.

This was an extremely convenient spot that checked a lot of boxes. Very close to Ithaca Commons, yet parking was easy. Having the separate bedrooms was key for us. Thanks for the local walks advice, waterfall on path just up the street was "Gorges", even in low water. Very economical for the location. Thanks a bunch.

Best stay ever!
If I could give it more than 5 stars I would. It was super clean, homey, and comfortable. You felt like you were a guest in someone’s home. It was also very affordable and convenient to everything you need. The owner communicated with me frequently and responded quickly. This is the place to stay while visiting Ithaca.
