We loved our stay! The guest house had nearly everything we needed. We somewhat missed having a stove as it did mean we had to eat out for every meal, but if you’re planning to be out and about the whole time or you don’t cook much, this place will be ideal. There is a toaster oven, so that helped. I would advise bringing a white noise machine as the plumbing woke us up several times with weird noises, haha! The hosts and the neighborhood on the whole were nice and quiet. It’s a lovely, clean and well-kept property (and is nicely decorated with the host’s beautiful art!) - we felt very safe. The hosts were also extremely responsive to any questions. The area is not overly central or easy to navigate if you’re trying to go pretty much anywhere beyond Avondale, BUT it’s a manageable 20-ish minute drive to other areas of the city, and there is plenty within a few minutes drive if you’re looking to mostly stay in. It’s truly a great set-up for a quiet, romantic stay. We found a few local arcade bars in the area that were so much fun; I can’t recommend those enough. Out of the whole week we stayed, there were only two issues: 1) the bathroom doesn’t afford any privacy at all as there is no exhaust fan and the rolling barn door doesn’t touch the floor or ceiling, and 2) the steep curb on their front drive is brutal. If you have a car that’s lowered, don’t even think about it! Luckily, my car’s suspension was able to handle it and everything else was amazing.
