Garten des Alchemisten: Touren und Aktivitäten

I stayed at Hotel La Prison in Béziers for four nights, from Wednesday to Sunday. The location is a real highlight. The hotel is set in a beautifully renovated former prison right on the main square, facing the cathedral. It’s unique and visually impressive. However, getting there is not easy due to very limited public transport, especially with luggage. At check-in, there was confusion about my booking. The receptionist questioned whether breakfast was included and mentioned they often have issues with Expedia. Only after I showed my reservation did she confirm it. Breakfast was excellent—rich, well-organized, and available from 7:00, which I really appreciated. The pool area, however, was poorly managed. There were only around 7–10 sun loungers for many guests, making it nearly impossible to find a spot. I wasn’t able to properly use the area at all. My room also lacked privacy. The window faced directly onto the pool, with people sitting just a meter away, making it uncomfortable to open the window. At check-out, there was more confusion. Expedia stated 12:00, but I was called at 11:30 and told it was 11:00. Again, the issue was blamed on Expedia. I had to rush, and the situation didn’t feel professionally handled. The breakfast charge confusion also came up again. Overall, the stay had strong points, especially the location and breakfast, but the recurring issues with organization and communication made it less enjoyable than expected.

Hotel in a french village. it is what it is, a tourist resort nearby. little village with many restaurants. The reception was a tragedy first, later ok.
