Grosse alte Wohnung. Weil es am abend kuhl war, war es kalt in der Wohnung. Leider darf den Kamin nicht benutzt werden. Die Küche war sehr alt und nicht alle Geschirr war sauber.

Great stay at Hale Hapuna
We had a great stay with our family at Hale Hapuna. Even though the interior is quite small you will find a well equipped kitchen and the outdoor / barbecue area with the terrace and a deck on a higher level is very spacious. From the upper deck you can even see the ocean and the sunsets! There are beautiful beaches nearby - especially Hapuna Beach and if you can get a parking the beach at Mauna Kea resort hotel. Good views and Cozy Property
The check-in was straight forward with ample supplies provided. Was one of the most well stocked with utensils in the kitchen, toiletries as well as ample spices. Furthermore, it has beach supplies namely chairs, umbrellas, towels and boogie boards. The house itself had a fantastic backyard with an upper and lower zen like deck with a water feature. Loved the outdoor shower too. The home was well decorated and property manager, Joe, was on top of everything and very responsive. Only consideration is the location, will need to drive everywhere. Although, that pretty much applies to all places on the Big Island unless you are staying at resort. Would highly recommend this site!

A little jewel away from the crowds. This place has everything you need. Small but comfortable for my family of 4. We loved catching a sunset on the deck and sitting in the outside oasis-just as pictured. Management checked in just before arrival and was receptive to one text on wifi. Would definitely stay here again.

This property was perfect for our family. We explored the entire island and this was a great comfortable, quiet and well stocked place to call home. The lanai was fantastic, and so much thought was put into setting up this home for guest. We didn’t need a thing but, appreciated being checked on during our stay.

Private Oasis
This Hale has everything you could possibly need while exploring all the amazing places in this area. Comfortable and spacious with all the amenities to be self sufficient. The outdoor Lanai is a garden paradise with several levels to enjoy shade, eat outside and take in the sunset. We throughly enjoyed our stay here, excellent communication and beautiful location.

Love, love, love!
This place was so hard to leave. It is rare to find a place with any nod to design in vacation rentals without spending a fortune. We appreciated the relaxing Asian vibe, the fully stocked kitchen, and the attention to detail. This place is immaculate and comfortable, and we loved the views. Communication was terrific. I pray we can return. If you are on the fence, just do it.

Near Mauna Kea
Stepping through the gate kind of took my breath away. Beautiful multi-level outdoor space with several seating areas and outdoor dining table. Spacious kitchen/dining/living area nicely decorated with Hawaiian and Southeast Asian art. Single full bath was perfect for us as a couple but might be challenging if staying with as many as this property could sleep. Location is a bit of a drive from groceries (8 miles to Foodland in Mauna Lani complex) and a pharmacy but proximity to a couple of the best beaches (Hapuna etc) and historic/cultural sites make it one of the best locations for outdoor activities. It was our first visit so we’re not familiar with the Big Island but I suspect this is one of the best locations available. Note that Walmart and Costco have locations near the airport so a little planning would help for families and groups that’d need more food supplied. Kitchen was particularly well supplied with equipment and utensils for a rental. Foodies and couples feeling romantic will find fancy resort dining within ten minutes. Merriman’s is about 15 minutes toward Waimea. Less expensive options are even closer at Seafood Bar (good for families). Blue Dragon is close too but seemed rowdy for us. Some places are closed Saturday night or close early - so be aware. All in all a great value in spacious and peaceful surroundings.

Just book it!
Absolutely fabulous place to stay by the best beaches on the island. This was the perfect rental for our family, which included my 10-year-old daughter. The ocean-view from the ourdoor balcony is dreamy, the outdoor patio/garden is a Zen retreat, the inside was perfectly clean, well-designed, and outfitted with all you need. Beach gear included towels, boogie boards, and chairs (we didn’t see kids’ beach toys, though they may have been hiding). Do bring your own coffee (non provided). I would not hesitate to recommend this place to my dearest friends.

Perfection Again
Second stay in this little house, and we'll definitely try to book it again. Manager response was quick and positive when we requested an additional day - hooray! Bed very comfortable; kitchen with so many cooking items that I was tempted to actually prepare meals, lol. The fragrance of the plants and citrus trees on property was the icing on this fabulous cake.

ʻo nā mea maʻalahi o ke ola e hoʻonui ai i ke ola Great location, perfectly decorated, extremely relaxing, hidden gem We are thankful that we found this place, neighborhood is quiet and you feel "kūloko" (local) and welcomed. Comfortable bedrooms, well stocked kitchen, relaxing Zen garden, Scenic Lani upper deck, perfect for morning coffee sunrises, happy hour sunsets, and exploring stars at night. Joe, the host, was more than accommodating and available any time you need help or have questions (thanks, Joe). Attention to details are what make this property special, modern kitchen, plenty of seating inside and out, outdoor shower, grill, boogie boards, air-conditioning, and decorated with style and class. We have been fortunate to travel and have stayed at numerous VRBO properties, and this one stands out as one of the best all around ! Fabulous!
Vacationing with adult children. Lovely home in a quiet neighborhood. The location was perfect for us. We specifically did not want to stay in a big resort and this cottage is in close proximity to the northern Kohala Coast beaches so a great alternative. Easy drive to north and east sides of island as well and to Kailua-Kona. Great base for our trip. Super comfortable beds, nice living room with comfortable seating with large screen TV. Very well-equipped kitchen and nice dining area. Lanai was amazing - extending the living space with another dining table and grill PLUS large area with seating for kicking back and relaxing PLUS the upper deck for early morning coffee and sunsets. Outdoor shower was great - you'll need it after the beach! Washer/dryer was one of my prerequisites for our trip and came in handy throughout the stay. Air conditioning was welcome for relief from the heat later in the afternoons. Overhead ceiling fans also available in all rooms. Property manager was very nice, super responsive and helpful with any questions we had. There was also a detailed book containing helpful information about the cottage and things to do on the island. I highly recommend this property!

Fabulous stay
We really enjoyed our recent 5 night stay at Hale Hapuna. The house was very clean. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The kitchen was the most well-stocked of any vacation rental at which we've ever stayed. We loved spending time relaxing and eating dinner on the lanai and watching the sunset and nighttime sky from the upper deck. The neighborhood was quiet. It's an easy 15-20 minute drive to Waimea, Hawi, and the Mauna Lani resort area. I was worried that we'd feel isolated but that was definitely not the case. We never ended up swimming at Spencer Beach Park but it looked like a great family-friendly beach. We visited the Pu'ukohola Heiau (adjacent to Spencer Beach Park) and had shave ice in Kawaihae. We would definitely stay here again!
