The Space:
Kanimbla Sunsets by Tiny Away is situated in the serene wilderness retreat of Kanimbla, just 20 minutes from Blackheath, a town near the highest point of the Blue Mountains. Nearby attractions include Blackheath Lookout, Megalong Valley and the Blue Mountains National Park, which is just 23 minutes away.
This flat, open area offers breathtaking mountain views and a perfect sunset each evening. As part of local biodiversity conservation, it provides a peaceful wildlife retreat, surrounded by native trees and birdsong, offering a serene escape to reconnect with nature.
A cozy 139-square-foot tiny home with easy access to water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. These amenities an eco-friendly cassette toilet with a removable waste holding tank, a hand basin, and a gas-heated shower.

NOTICE TO ALL: Please remember to drive at a speed limit of 60 km/h at night when traveling to and from the property and around local areas. There is a lot of wildlife in the area, some of which may be animals being cared for by the Wildlife Carers who own the property.
Guest Access:
Guests will have access to the tiny house and its surroundings, except the main property which is restricted and fenced off. If you find yourself entering through a gate or over a fence, you've gone too far.
If you're interested in reaching the top of the property for sunset views from a large pine tree, follow the signed and designated bush walk from the Tiny Away home.
Please note that the tiny home is undulating and while no specific fitness level is required to enjoy the view, walking approximately 350 meters over uneven ground and a steep hill requires some fitness.
You’re welcome to explore the bushland below the Tiny Away tiny homes, but please be careful not to disturb or damage the plants and natural surroundings.

- Logan Brae Orchards has an apple season from March to July, with fresh apples, juice, and apple pies.
- Winter Magic Festival takes place every July in Katoomba, offering festive decorations, live music, and special events.

Getting Around:
By car:

By public transport:
1. From Sydney: Trains running from Central station to Mount Victoria, guests must find transport from Mount Victoria to the Tiny away. (approx 18 minute drive)
2. Recommended to Drive.
3. There is taxi service between Mount Victoria and Hartley (which encompasses the Kanimbla region, and should be able to take you to Kanimbla)
Other Things to Note:
- Gas BBQ Grill is available
- Water from the tap is drinkable
- No uninvited guests or visitors allowed
- No open fires allowed during a total fire ban
- Free 20kgs of firewood, you may purchase for extra $20
- No smoking allowed inside the tiny home; only outdoors
- Telstra and Optus have good signals; others have weak signals
- Please expect insects and free-roaming wildlife during your stay
- We recommend bringing with you an insect repellent or bug spray
- Please expect limited connectivity as the tiny house is set in a rural locality
- Due to the nature of the property, abundant wildlife may be present on the property
- Please note that bushwalking trails have uneven terrain. Please be careful as it can be dangerous
- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge
Wildlife guidelines
- PLEASE DO NOT interact with the wildlife or disturb the wildlife. Please only observe.
- If you see any wildlife or conservation activities going on. Please do not disturb them.
- If you spot any injured wildlife or wildlife that is behaving oddly. Please contact WIRES.
- There is potential for noise from surrounding properties which may include dogs barking, or farm equipment operation
- During the summer, there are snakes in the area. We recommend that guests wear long pants, sleeves, or boots when they are outside. We provide a Snake first aid kit as well as a regular first aid kit
Important note:
- Advance booking is required. Guests can arrange a Coles or Woolworths delivery to the property, and we will ensure it is brought to their accommodation if arriving the same day or the following day. Alternatively, deliveries can be scheduled for when you are on-site.
- For stays of 5 nights or more, an additional cleaning fee will be collected to help maintain the cassette toilets and ensure a clean and fresh experience for all guests. We appreciate your understanding.
