Overview
This newly renovated Kawartha Lakes cottage rental sits on the shore of the meandering Burnt River. It’s a tranquil spot with the sound of birdsong, weed-free water for swimming and idyllic views. Take out the paddleboat for a gentle tour of the river and check out the shoreside wildlife. Then come back to the sunny deck for a BBQ and cold drink.
The light and airy interior offers a lovely outlook onto the river with a dining and seating area in a new addition, and sliding doors to the deck. The living room has cozy seating, a large screen TV and a lovely propane stove for cooler evenings.
Cooking could not be easier in the well-equipped kitchen with a good range of small appliances, and a dishwasher. The washer and dryer are located in a closet in the hallway.
Three comfortably furnished bedrooms and a four-piece bathroom round out the accommodation.
The Burnt River flows from its source at Miskwabi Lake in Haliburton County south into the Kawartha Lakes region. It meanders through forested land and small villages before emptying into Cameron Lake in the City of Kawartha Lakes, part of the Trent–Severn Waterway.
The quiet country dead-end road is ideal for taking a morning run, or a stroll with kids and dogs, while the bustling village of Coboconk is just 10-minutes away.
Blue Buck Cottage makes a perfect centralised location for exploring the Kawartha Lakes.
Days out from the cottage could include a trip to Lindsay – just 20 minutes away – for the weekly Farmers' Market; a boat rental from Fenelon Falls, or a visit to the historic Kinmount Icelandiic Memorial and a riverside picnic.
Riverside Park and the golf course at Minden are close-by with of course, arguably the best ice cream in Canada at Kawartha Dairy!

Waterfront
The river is calm, with a gentle current. Shallow, rocky entry from the shoreline is available, and deep water swimming off the dock as well.
Fall & Winter Activities
There are many great biking, ATV and snowmobile trails in the area. Indian Point Provincial Park is only 15 minutes away and has a great 11.6-km loop trail, perfect for hiking and bird watching.
The cottage is right around the corner from one of the major snowmobile trails that travels up to Quebec.
