This is a good cottage for staying with your friends next door!
We met up with old friends from Ireland and had a lot of fun. Our kids are teenagers, theirs are younger, and it was nice to have our own space as well as doing lots together. The cottages are quite small, but very clean, and the outside courtyard and grassy slope is nice and kept well-mowed and tidy. We had incredible weather, which meant we ate almost entirely outside, with both picnic tables set up together and a nice bbq on loan from the owners. Also a football goal for our kids to play with on the slope. A bit risky when mums are chatting with wine on the patio, and the slope is fairly steep, but I only had one ball in my back, nothing to the head and nothing broken!
Good 10-mile bike ride was on Great Cumbrae Island, good beach at Troon with excellent kiosk coffee, the castle in Kilmarnock and park are well worth probably a couple of days to explore (although the café man is well scary in enforcing face masks!)
All in all, a good holiday.
