September get Away
This place was cute, cozy and conveniently located! The Windan sea neighborhood was quiet and darling! Love the local coffee shops, walking distance. The price was right! Loved the keyless entry but the door was a bit finicky. T there were plenty of towels, for showering and to use for the beach. The kitchen had everything we needed. Thank you !

Great location, units that needs some serious improvements
The location is awsome, few blocks from the beach and with several great coffee shops and restaurants. The communication with management company was very good, with prompt response. The unit is however not been updated and cleaning standards below expectations (i have sever allergy to dust and the fan above the bed had a thick layer of dust which we pointed out to the owner, but no action was taken while we were there).. however the most important issue was that the the listing didn’t mentioned that the house had NO heating nor cooling system. While a/c in California can be hard to find, not having a heating system should have been included in the listing. Not only it was not mentioned but no space heaters were provided. We had a very uncomfortable first night, the owner provided 2 very sm heaters the second day, but they hardly resolved the issue. I would not return.

Location, location, location!
This was a fabulous COVID-19 Spring getaway for me family of five (kids aged 17, 15, 11) to "socially distance" ourselves in the sun and the surf. This vintage cottage had the perfect location and all the necessities: body boards, beach chairs + umbrellas, pots & pans, even coffee and a deck of cards! When we found the neighborhood Von's, the Taco Stand, and the D.G. Will's bookstore, we scratched any plans we had outside of La Jolla. Super dog-friendly place, which added a casual homey vibe for us -- nothing more fun than watching dogs run on the beach.

An excellent location, a short walk to the beach, this cottage is nestled in a friendly neighborhood providing lots of interesting walks. The cottage was clean and the kitchen was well-appointed. The bed is comfortable and the bathroom was well designed. The patio in the front catches the breeze and provides a space for people watching and Nikki is quick to answer questions.

What a sweet, comfy cottage only a couple of blocks from the beach. Ever since we started traveling with our dog, our options have been limited in terms of places to stay. So glad we found this one. Nikki was very responsive, energetic, and caring about our needs. Highly recommend this place. Hope to return ourselves.

Perfect La Jolla Stay
Location was ideal - just off beach and walking to much of L Jolla, while quiet. The unit had everything we needed and was very nicely appointed and organized. The small backyard patio space (with beach gear and grill) and laundry (no issue sharing with other unit) were useful. Parking was never an issue while we were there. We were pleased as we came in, and had a great one week stay with our small dog in tow.

We stayed here with our two young children. Place was clean, laundry was a plus, and it had all the necessary supplies so we could make meals and relax during our time in California. Good location in La Jolla to talk to things, and parking was always easy right out front!

Well-appointed, compact apartment in an unbeatable location!
This unit is small, but efficient. There are some quirks—the laundry is outside, there is only a space heater to keep you warm at night, and the second bedroom's bed is actually just a couch you can pull apart into a couple of different configurations—but the incredible location and other amenities more or less make up for them. Highly recommended for 1-2 adults looking for convenient access to the beach!

We had a great time in La Jolla and Villa Serena was a wonderful cottage. Our family had everything we needed and loved the little back patio. We spent most of our time out there listening to music and just reconnecting. I highly recommend La Jolla and Villa Serena!

Couldn’t Have Been Better
Villa Serena was perfect. We are an older couple traveling with an adult child to visit family in the area. The cottage was perfect for our trip. It was well decorated, roomy and clean, and it was in a perfect location — close to the town, our family and the beach, with plenty of parking. Nikki was on the premises to greet us. She was great to talk to, close by and available to help if we needed anything. If Villa Serena is available for our next visit to the area, we will definitely look to stay again.

Easy to get to, walk to beach, park for kids, dogs, walking/biking trail. Place was great ez parking
Beautiful! This place has the charm, clean and crisp. More than enough room for my wife and I and our 2 lab/huskies and their large dog beds that we brought with us. Arrived and parked right in front of house. Door opens to living room. TV has everything (Spectrum/NetFlix etc...).small bedroom on left of door behind living room was small but very functional. Kitchen had all amenities (beautiful fridge/gas stove/sink/counter tops/microwave/kitchen ware/utensils/floor tiles). As soon as we arrived and unpacked, we walked the dogs to the park (end of our quiet street! 8 minutes). Then went for a walk on the awesome beach ( 5 minutes from the house in the other direction!). Place has a coffee maker, but coffee house was easier (9 minute slow walk). Main bedroom was large with en suite bathroom (with shower/tub). 6-7 great parks within 15 minute drive. About to a thousand eateries so close (if you like Mexican food, ‘Don Carlos Taco Shop’ has everything but a lot of space. Great enchiladas, quesadillas!). Nikki and Bill have done a great job to make me want to come back again and again. Nikki was available and accommodating not hovering. Also Jade was available for anything extra, like special towels for our dogs. Nikki is a great host/human (she has a pet sanctuary around the corner!).

Clean home in La Jolla
Overall this home suited our needs. I came here with a three-month-old baby and my parents to enjoy a few days of sunshine and San Diego. Nikki was very friendly and made sure prior to arriving she had a pack and play for my son. Unfortunately when we arrived I could not locate the pack and play and it was already 6 PM at night. I tried getting a hold of Nikki, but was unsuccessful until almost 830 at night. There was also only one roll of toilet paper provided to us, and no soap, so we had to make a couple of trips to cvs during our stay to get basic supplies. While I’m sure Nikki would have brought these items to our home, Nikki does not timely respond to phone calls, voicemails, emails, text messages, etc., so it was just easier to get these items ourselves. Overall the home was great and worked perfectly for us, but it would have been nice to have Nikki be more responsive.

Closer to the beach than we expected and Quieter too! We love villa Serena!
We've found our home away from home! We come to La Jolla often for work and for play and already knew the Windansea neighborhood as one of our favorites. It is walkable- almost like the Shores, but much less noisy. This home is midway between the beach and the park (great for younger kids and dogs) on a quiet street. There is a lighted crosswalk at the boulevard and direct access to the beach at the end of Gravilla St which makes for a 2-3 minute walk to the beach. We've paid more to rent a 1-bedroom which boasted "West of the blvd" status but was actually farther from the beach. We were delighted that this home was actually closer and more affordable. We love the simple, uncluttered feel of Villa Serena. Nikki is a delightful host and Bill is a sweetheart. Nikki offered us a nice discount for our return visits and she showed us Villa Tranquila which will be our back-up choice when Villa Serena is booked. She also showed us Villa Solana, the small studio which will not work for our family but will be a great place for when one of us comes out for business. Overall, very pleased with the setup, the hosting, and the value. Thanks Nikki and Bill.
