Pros:
The house is beautiful and spacious with several areas to lounge in the sun or shade and enjoy the beautiful weather, view of the water and sunset and listen to music from the surrounding area almost every night (some may not like this but we did).
Located at the far end of the Malecon, however, only a block from the water, and an easy walk to the marina, bars, restaurants, excursions, bike rental, bus terminal, etc.
The kitchen was well equipped with oil, seasonings, coffee/cream/sugar, plenty of pots, pans, dishes, glasses, etc.
The bedrooms and bathrooms were nicely decorated and comfortable. They included nice soap, shampoo and conditioner, plenty of towels, toilet paper, etc.
The washer and dryer were great to have for our month stay.
The pool was the perfect size and temperature.
The yard is beautiful with tropical landscaping and lime and grapefruit trees.
We BBQ’d on the rustic grill many times. The charcoal drawer was a bit difficult to deal with but otherwise it was great to have.
The wood fired oven on the 3rd floor felt great on a chilly night. The 3rd level lounge area was definitely our favorite . . . comfortable furniture, nice view, lighting, fire, etc.
We enjoyed daily visits from woodpeckers, geckos, hummingbirds, pigeons, doves, and many other types of birds that enjoyed making a quick stop at the pool for a drink. We even spotted three parakeets in the tree next door one day.
The weekly cleaning crew and pool cleaner/handyman were friendly, efficient, and thorough.
We had an issue with the lock on the back door wall and it was promptly fixed by the handyman.
We did not have a car so we used Didi for transportation to/from the grocery store once a week (43 pesos each way), to/from Playa Tecolote (180 pesos each way), and to La Paz airport on departure day (70 pesos). We rented a car for one day from Avis a block from the rental for 500 pesos to go to Playa Balandra and a couple other beaches.
Cons:
Barking dogs . . . a lot of barking dogs.
The living room furniture layout was not ideal for watching TV and the furniture was very uncomfortable. We love watching football and movies so this is important to us, however, might not be to others.
The WIFI was inconsistent and rarely worked on the 2nd or 3rd floor but we used our hotspot so not a big deal.
The hot water at the shower/sinks did not last long so maybe a bigger tank is necessary.
Recommendations:
Portable beach chairs would be a great addition.
