Sitting at the base of the Spanish Peaks Mountains in the Hoajatoya Valley, the San Francisco Ranch is blessed with stunning natural beauty and vistas. As you enter through the gate and drive down the quarter mile tree line drive you'll be greeted by cattle, horses, deer, elk, wild turkeys and countless species of native birds feasting on fruit trees. You'll be taken back by the endless green pastures framed by stunning views of the West Spanish Peak and the Sangre de Cristo mountains to the west. The natural springs and creeks that abound on the property, along with rich soils make the land burst with greenery, flowers and wildlife that make the San Francisco Ranch feel like the Garden of Eden! This truly is one of the most beautiful places in all of Colorado! As you turn into the circular drive you'll find the two homes on the property that are works of art! The homes were built in 1891 and 1920 and boast character and craftsmanship seldom seen in modern architecture. The guest house, which will be your primary quarters during your stay, was remodeled by artist and craftsman working with steam bent wood, hand forged iron, adobe and hand painted tile. As you walk through the 150 year old 200 lb front doors which were imported from old Mexico you'll be greeted by Renaissance style fresco paintings decorating the arched section of the ceiling in front of wooden windows repurposed from an 18th century chapel. While staying at the ranch you can choose from many optional activities at the ranch, including hiking, cycling, horse back riding, archery, target shooting, picnics by the creek, riding ATV's and much more! Here you can be as active as you want or simply relax and take some much needed R&R. You can pick your own farm fresh organic free ranging eggs for breakfast. We look forward to having you as our guest. If you have special request, please call us and we will do everything we can to make it happen!
