Fun but here's some things to know
We had a great time at this property. There were plenty of beds and bathrooms to accommodate large groups comfortably. It is well laid out with seating and dining indoors and out. The downside is that this property has a carpenter ant problem. Ant traps and sawdust were in every room on the main floor. Since it's a beautiful log home structure, they'll hopefully get that addressed. The main floor shower was plugged, and we were unable to get fixed during our week. The property company is hard to communicate with if you don't speak French. ***A warning that the waterfront is misleading. We thought we’d have private, direct waterfront access. The dock pictured in the photo on VRBO doesn’t even belong to this property. The reality is that the cottage shares a small floating dock with multiple large cottages on a small “lake”. Access to the water involves a steep and rough terrain walk through the woods and anyone with mobility issues or small children would have difficulty. Even the dock requires a leap from shore to get onto it. The water is not a swimming lake. We enjoyed kayaking and canoeing, but no one went swimming. Instead, some floated on blow up floats around the lake, trying to avoid the really weedy parts. The fire pit is wonderful and there’s a volleyball court and lots of other things to do in this beautiful area.
