Enjoy a peaceful stay in a rural setting and bring your walking shoes for a delightful hiking experience right across the road! Fish, hike, hunt, picnic or snowshoe & cross-country ski in winter months. We are a minute away from the Jefferson County Snowmobile Trails - bring your sleds! Convenient 4 minute walk, 1 minute drive to a local favorite for amazing lunches or dinners, Aztalan Inn Bar & Grill. Summers are a favorite in Lake Mills, WI with beautiful Rock Lake to spend your sunny days at. A quick 5-minute drive has you to the towns center, Commons Park, where shopping and dining options await you. A local winery, distillery and brewery are a few of the favorites in Lake Mills. Our Aztalan Cottage is a mere 30 miles from Madison and 50 minutes to Milwaukee. Central Air/Heat/Parking/Patio/Grill/Pets upon approval and extra fee. Graduation Weekend
We had two daughters graduating on the same day. One at UW Madison and one at Marquette. We stayed here so we could celebrate in both cities and venues. It worked very well logistically.

Charming house in a charming location
Every need was anticipated. The house lacked for nothing. Owners were very accommodating. We thought the online pictures did not do the kitchen justice and the amazing view of the Park was not mentioned. We arose at dawn to take sunrise photos over the mounds and it was a beautiful and profound experience. Sunset in the backyard was also lovely. Found a local butcher to provide scrumptious, fresh meat for dinner. Everything was perfect.

Absolutely one of the best vacation rentals
This property screamed home, as soon as you steped inside. We loved the comfortable furniture and bed. The were so many special items the owner added to make it more like home. The bathroom had plenty of thick towels, toilet paper and bathing products. I love the kitchen was awesome to work in. There was a good variety of k cups for the kerig. The kitchen had all the necessities. The back yard was enormous, which our dogs really enjoyed. Right across the street is a really cool archeological site to explore, which is doog friendly. You really can not go wrong with this vacation rental. Thanks to Monica for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home

Very comfortable and liked the location short distance off 94 and in country like setting. Even though it was a sweltering 98 degree week the large treed yard allowed us to sit on the patio early morning and late in the day with the breezes keeping us comfortable. But we sure appreciated the A/C also. The cottage was quite roomy and furnished with so many conveniences. Definitely would recommend it.

Excellent prairie cottage
The cottage was just right for us and just as described in the listing. We enjoyed being able to walk to Aztalan State Park and the museum. Fascinating history. We loved the decorative touches in the cottage. A nice surprise was the mown trail among the trees in the backyard! It was a great home base to explore the interesting small towns in the area. Monica was excellent to work with.

Awesome cottage
We really enjoyed our stay in Atzalan. The cottage was well supplied with everything we needed. We loved the decor. All the cute little sayings on the walls. The photography photos. The kids loved the games and the mirror in the front room. All of the beds were comfortable. Loved all of the extra blankets!! The yard was so peaceful and beautiful. Loved the privacy. Bike Trip
This property has a cottage feel to it. Two nice large bedrooms and a smaller room with twin beds. We used the nice patio in back to sit outside after riding the near by bike trail. Also, we visited the Aztalan park across the street. This is the 2nd time I stayed at this property. Enjoyed both times.

Wonderful Wintery Retreat
It was everything we wanted. Clean, warm home where we could get away from it all. It's really well situated for the Aztalan State Park - enjoyed wandering in the snow there. Very quiet. Only thing is that we had some difficulty keeping the front door closed from the inside. We managed but a little bit of instruction on how to close the door inside the house would be great. Otherwise, we had a marvelous time. We loved the Christmas tree.

Comfortable, Spacious, Fun
My friends, girlfriend, and I wanted to enjoy our New Year’s away from home in a homey environment. This place was exactly that and more! Had all of the amentities we needed; we were able to cook and clean and wash clothes. The decoration and location is perfect for a getaway and to enjoy a quiet outside, yet we made it fun inside. Hosts were super helpful and responsive. Nothing negative to report–thank you!! We truly enjoyed our stay.
