The Tiny Red Barn on the Reservoir - A Private Oasis Near Williamsburg Virginia

The Tiny Red Barn is a labor of love built by us for you on the Diascund Reservoir with water views, wooded trails and sunsets. We feel like we're on vacation every day of the year and look forward to sharing our 26 acres with you. Heavily wooded land with rolling trails, birds, deer, squirrels, turtles, chickens and bees. A large amount of our property sits on the Diascund Reservoir which provides a whole other side of nature.

Mini Donkeys - we currently have six mini rescue donkeys.

They are secured by a fence and have their own barn.

Adults, children and pets are strictly PROHIBITED from entering their fenced in area at any time without a host being present. DO NOT FEED or place hands, or fingers into their fenced in area.

If you wish to meet them and have a grooming session, we’ll do our best to make that happen .

The beautiful, restful, Tiny Red Barn
The Tiny Red Barn is such a unique, delightful, and absolutely beautiful property. The space is clean and impeccably decorated, including all of the amenities you may need during your stay. We especially enjoyed our time relaxing in the screened in porch, the game selection and game time with our kids, paddling on the reservoir, and making s’mores around the fire pit. Virginia was communicative and available at any time, but gave us our space and privacy throughout our entire stay. It was so easy to melt into relaxation at this gorgeous property and we hope to stay at the Tine Red Barn again!

Attention to Detail
Loved the American flags attached to the trees as we drove in. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay because of how remarkable they made our living quarters!! The attention to detail was amazing. Personal robes, special soap as a gift as well as all the items desired when taking a shower, shampoo, razor, tooth brush, ect..a few adult beverages in the frig, cookies, and games both indoor and outdoor. The decorating done on the inside and outside was beautiful! The donkeys would greet us while on our walks. People who came to visit during our stay were also very impressed!

Truly a 5 star place
This is one of the best vacation homes we have stayed in. Very clean, comfortable beds, lots of thoughtful extras, and a friendly responsive host. We had fun on the trails around the property, fishing from the pier and just loving the house and natural surroundings. The location was great for getting out to local tourist stuff too. Our family had never spent any time with donkeys until we met the ones on the property. We immediately fell in love with those peaceful guys and looked forward to visiting every day. Thanks for the great stay — We are looking forward to returning!

Get away with the wife.
Beautiful property with great privacy and scenery. Extremely clean and very comfortable. Stayed for four nights with my wife and our dog while we enjoyed the area. Couldn't ask for a more perfect location. Owners were very respectful and polite. We enjoyed greeting the donkeys each morning!

Absolutely beautiful!!
Everything was as described in the posting. The cookies and eggs were absolutely fabulous and I loved my "keepsake" bar of soap. The kayaks were an awesome added bonus! The reservoir was so calm. The house is so beautifully and thoughtfully decorated. It was like coming home after the adventures at the theme parks. We could love 💖 to stay again in the future.

Lovely little home
We loved the tiny red barn ! Beautifully decorated, clean, comfortable, and lots of sweet add-ons that made it extra special! I liked the fresh eggs and homemade soap . Wonderful Gem Convenient to Williamsburg and More!
I sent my retired parents to the Little Red Barn as a gift, and they loved it! All my communications with the hosts were friendly, easy and great! I asked my parents to send me their reviews so others could read about a great find. From one parent: We enjoyed our stay at the Little Red Barn immensely. Its location was an excellent jumping-off point for our tours of the Historic Triangle of Williamsburg. Each day we looked forward to returning to our “home away from home” and only wished we had more time to explore the surroundings with our dog. We highly recommend the Little Red Barn for a stay in the Williamsburg/Richmond area! From the other parent: We just loved the Tiny Red Barn! It was so comfy and cozy. Decorated beautifully. The bed was very comfortable and we both slept well. The kitchen was well stocked. The grounds were beautiful. Too cold to sit on the beautiful porch. The place even had a fire pit, picnic table and gas grill. All in red!! We truly enjoyed our visit.

We loved every minute of our stay at the tiny red barn. The barn is well decorated and enjoyed our night fire and watching Christmas movies. Just a short distance to Williamsburg. Little Red Dream
There aren’t enough nice things to say about the Little Red Barn! We had a slight change in our travel plans and Virginia could not have been more gracious & accommodating. My sister-in-law made the trip with me and we both unanimously said as soon as we settled in, “We could live here!” Virginia met us when we arrived and showed us everything we needed to know. From the freshly baked chocolate chip cookies waiting for us when we arrived to the beautifully decorated unit, the perfectly appointed kitchen and bathroom, the peaceful, serene grounds and view of the reservoir, the holiday decorations and warm hospitality- everything was just perfect. We totally fell in love with the Little Red Barn & can’t wait to come back again! Virginia & Stephen attend to your every need when you stay with them. Perfect Getaway
When we arrived my children ran into the woods and began to explore. The area is such a relief from city life. With all the outings I planned the kiddos wanted to stay at the barn. Perfect Little Barn
Wonderful location. Well thought out property. Had everything you would have wanted in terms of activities. Amazing decor and detail to the barn. Loved the nighttime lighting with the window candles. The outdoor fire pit was fully stocked and very convenient. The kayaks were easy to get to and perfect for our family. I could go on and on. Such a perfect vacation spot.

Amazing property!
We loved our week long stay at the “Tiny Red Barn”! It was a great home base for everything we wanted to see and do in the Williamsburg/ Richmond areas. The property itself is wonderful, extremely clean, beds were very comfortable and so many personal touches and amenities…the cookies awaiting on our arrival were an especially nice touch. We loved the dock, and had fun with the kayaks, paddleboat etc. Virginia and Stephen are amazing hosts and we would stay here again in a heartbeat.

I can not even express how beautiful and relaxing this home is. Yes, it feels like home! Anything that you could think of that you would need it is provided. Wonderful Family Getaway
The Tiny Red Barn is the perfect place for a relaxing, peaceful getaway. The interior is beautifully decorated and the kitchen is well stocked. The added bonus of the freshly baked cookies, the fresh eggs and the homemade soap were very much appreciated and enjoyed. The views were wonderful overlooking the water. Our family enjoyed walking the trails, playing games and sitting out by the fire in the evenings. There are several wineries that are close by and Williamsburg is about15-20 minutes away. It is a perfect place to relax and unwind. We hope to return soon!

A beautiful place to rest and enjoy some family time
We had a wonderful stay at the Tiny Red Barn and I've been telling EVERYONE about this gem. Its rare to find such a well-kept, thoughtful, and comfortable place to rest, refresh, and enjoy for everyone in the family - ranging from kids to tweens to adults. But we all really enjoyed this delightful oasis. Highlights included canoeing on the lake and watching the turtles bob in and out of the water, the free range chickens that my kids loved tracking and naming, the hiking trails, and making soap with the most lovely and engaging property owner. It was conveniently located to Williamsburg, Go Ape (an outdoor ropes course and zip line), great food like Hohl, and other fun activities in the area. We'll be raving about this stay for some time to come and we highly recommend the Tiny Red Barn!

Fully Modern Farm House
This is a modern country-style home adjacent to a small family farm. The kids were delighted when chickens would wander into our yard. Our host even supplied us with fresh eggs from their free-range chickens. The house was supplied with everything we needed. Located on a lake, the view out of our front door was beautiful and relaxing. The gas fire place kept us warm and cozy at night. We have already booked our next stay in June.
