„Lovely country pub with loads of character. Located in a small village, in an isolated, quiet location. Warm welcome from the Land Lady and Scrappy Do. Friendly and helpful staff. Stayed two nights, room clean and comfortable with tea/coffe and TV. Free wifi, useful as there was no phone signal. Ate at the pub both nights, tasty, reasonably priced food. Recomend the Venison pie with a glass of red. Overall, an excellent stay, definately recommend. Will be staying again when back in the area.“

„Ist von innen sehr viel besser als es von außen aussieht. Sehr liebevoll eingerichtete und saubere Zimmer mit TV, Teekocher ausreichend großem Bad und kostenlosem WiFi. Sehr freundliches Personal. Im angeschloßenen Pub kann man sehr gut essen. Frühstück ist sehr gut. Parkplätze in 1 Minute Entfernung im öffentlichen Carpark sind ab 18:00 Uhr bis morgens 08:00 Uhr kostenlos.“

„Second time of staying here. So that says a lot! All staff very friendly and food was delicious, although quite expensive. Beautiful breakfast with a good choice. Room large, bed comfy, all very clean and little extras, and water in the room were a nice touch! Definitely recommend. Although above a pub no noise whatsoever! Plenty of free parking and the entrance to the caves very close by. “

„Die beiden Vermieter James und Kathrine, strahlen eine große Herzenswärme aus, so dass man sich vom ersten Moment an heimisch fühlt. Sie sind unentwegt darauf bedacht, den Aufenthalt so angenehm wie möglich zu gestalten. Das Frühstück war überaus üppig und wurde nach eigenen Wünschen zusammengestellt. Täglich wurden die Zimmer gerichtet und was an Tee, Kaffee oder Gebäck fehlte wieder aufgefüllt. Absolut empfehlenswert!!!“

„Typisches "Inn" mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Der Schriftsteller Thomas Hardy ist ein grosses Thema des Crown Inn, da der Ort Marnhull als Vorlage für seinen berühmten Roman "Fat from the Madding Crowd" diente.“

„This is an old-fashioned tavern with an inn. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, as were the local patrons. The included breakfast consisted of fresh fruits, cured meats, cheeses, yogurt, cereal, toast, juice, milk, etc. We ate dinner at their restaurant the night we arrived and it was tasty traditional English food. I had a very nice fish and chips while my wife had a delicious meat pie. The beds were a bit soft for my liking, but I slept comfortably. I could do without the green ...

„Check out at 10am is too early. Continental breakfast a bit limit. But Bacon Omelette lovely. Overall, otherwise hotel great and thanks for the upgrade, even better value “
