This rural, loft cabin is simply spectacular. Located in the heart of the Trevallyn bushland, this home overlooks the surrounding Tasmanian flora, whilst also being a frequent stopping point for many species of native wildlife.
Sit back and soak up the serenity on the beautiful deck outside, enjoy a tasty BBQ or woodfire pizza, or a toasted marshmallow on the fire-pit. The interior features a toasty fireplace, north-east facing double height windows, and sun drenched sitting nooks.
Space
As you enter the property, you will be amazed by this beautiful bushland retreat. The turning circle, and undercover car space provides guests with ample space for parking. Where does the property get the nickname 'Mr. Wooden Box'?, you may wonder; however, it is easy to see why on arrival! The home is a unique, multi-story build, with timber cladding wrapping around the exterior, providing a seamless blend into its surrounds.
As you would through the gardens, you will find unique and thoughtful touches scattered about. Step across the stones and find opportunities to relax with loved ones by the toasty firepit, interact with the native wildlife including native wallabies, birdlife and echidnas, cook up a feast on the BBQ, or create an Italian masterpiece on the outdoor pizza oven!
Step onto the deck, where there are two lovely north-east facing chairs, allowing you to capture the warm, morning and early afternoon sun, gaze across the bushland, or stare at the starry constellations found at night.
The entrance to the home is located off the deck, through a large, glass sliding door. As you step inside, the home's mesmerizing design will blow you away. You will find a cosy reading nook, the lounge-dining areas, and kitchen integrated into a large, open-living design. The reading nook provides you with a generous range of reading material of all genres, along with beautiful seating cleverly placed, ensuring that you enjoy a great read with both views and sunshine.
The lovely living room is filled with natural warmth and light that beams through the north-east facing, double height windows. As the sunshine fades, there is a warm fireplace situated in its centre to keep you toasty throughout the night. There is a TV located underneath the staircase, where you can cosy-up and catch up on all your favourite shows. The comfortable couch provides a space for you to relax, bask in the sunshine, and watch the world go by.
The large dining table is thoughtfully integrated into the kitchen. This area provides the perfect space to enjoy some hearty, home cooked meals, and is great for entertaining. The kitchen is well-appointed, with a large fridge, plenty of storage space, cutlery, crockery and utensils all at your fingertips. There is a pod coffee machine located here, providing you with the opportunity to brew up a delicious coffee to help kick-start your mornings.
Additionally found on the ground floor, is the homes first queen-sized bedroom. Inside here, you will find a comfortable bed with crisp-clean linen, storage space, and bedside lighting for your late-night reading sessions.
Make your way up the gorgeous, timber staircase and onto the second floors mezzanine. From here you can enjoy views of the surrounding landscape, and look straight down onto the ground floor. The bathroom is found on the second floor, which features modern finishes and a spacious walk-in shower. The laundry is integrated into the space, just behind the doors to your left. Here you will find a washing machine and drying rack for your convenience.
Walk through to the end of the mezzanines hallway, where you will reach the upstairs bedroom. Reset your circadian rhythm and wake up with the sun! You will be up at the crack of dawn and ready to start your daily adventures, with the sun from the main space beaming through to the upstairs bedroom.
The home allows you to connect with your roots, and return to nature in only the best ways possible!

The Neighborhood
One of the original Launceston suburbs, set in the hills to the west of the Tamar River, Trevallyn enjoys stunning views of the city and beyond.
The Trevallyn shop precinct includes the Neighbourhood café, the Trevallyn Grocer, a Post Office and Pharmacy, the Shopfront Trevallyn homewares boutique and Mesa hairdressers. If you are after a more comprehensive supermarket, the nearby Riverside Plaza for a Woolworths supermarket, bakery, florist and more.
The Trevallyn recreational area is right at your doorstep! With several picnic and BBQ areas as well as archery, an array of walking tracks and an extensive network of mountain bike trails, catering to all skill levels. The Trevallyn Dam is located within the grounds, which is the source of the local hydro water supply, and an incredible sight when in flood.
The Cataract Gorge is located next to Trevallyn. A spectacular natural formation where you can enjoy long and short walks, fresh water swimming basins, the world's longest single-span chairlift and vibrant peacocks! An additional, unique way to experience this attraction is via the Tamar Cruise vessel, which cruises through the waters that carve between the rocky formations.
Trevallyn is four minutes from Launceston City which has a variety of shops, cafes and restaurants as well as the City Park which is known for its beautiful oak tree gardens, playground for the children, a plant-filled conservatory and cheeky snow monkeys.
Getting Around
To get the most out of your stay, to be able to explore all that Launceston and its surrounds have to offer, a car is recommended. Additionally, there are many alternative options listed below:
METRO BUS SERVICE: Metro bus service provides transportation throughout Launceston and its surrounding suburbs each day. To access timetables, routes, and prices, please visit the Metro Tasmania Website.
FREE TIGER BUS: The bus travels around the city. There are bus stops located nearby outside Princes Square Park and the Launceston General Hospital. ELECTRIC SCOOTERS: You will find purple electric scooters scattered around Launceston. To access these, please download the App ‘Beam’. Please wear the helmet provided and be safe!
BIKE RENTAL: Roll Cycles at 112 Cimitiere St offer bike rentals with options to suit most riders. Whether you are taking a leisurely stroll around town or taking on our world-famous mountain bike trails, Roll Cycles have you covered.
UBER: Uber is a popular form of transport used by many locals and tourists. To use, simply download the ‘Uber’ app on your phone and book a ride to your destination.
TAXI: Local taxi service can be found on the internet.
AIRPORT SHUTTLE: The airport shuttle service can be found on the internet.
Notes
This home is surrounded by bush land so you will be treated with visits from local wildlife. Although the potoroos and echidnas are welcome you may also find you have a visit from a friendly spider. We have insect spray in the home but there is little we can do to guarantee they will not visit. If you have a fear of spiders, similar to our manager Katie's, then we recommend bringing a brave friend.
Please note that there are no curtains or blinds found in the properties main living area. This also means that the sunlight will beam through to the upstairs bedroom of a morning.
We ask you to please ensure that the BBQ is cleaned following use, we may charge an additional cost if this is not left in a clean state.
Please keep the noise down from 10 pm onwards, no shoes inside, and no smoking inside.
Please note for longer stays, an additional fortnightly mid stay cleaning charge will apply to your stay.
A $50 fee will be charged if guests fail to check out by agreed check out time.
The main form of heating is a fireplace.
The driveway is unpaved and the average width is 3.3 meters wide.
There is no bathroom access on the lower floor. Guests will need to use to interior staircase to access these facilities.
Please keep your showers to a maximum of 25 minutes at a time to avoid running out of hot water throughout your stay.
