About this space
Relax and unwind at this serene location situated just off a paved road with access to ORV trail systems. Bring your own gas-powered recreational vehicles. Only a brief 10-minute drive to Lewiston and 15 minutes to Mio & the Ausable River for tubing or canoeing excursions. Whether you prefer cooking at home or dining out in one of the numerous northern-inspired bars and restaurants, amenities are easily accessible. Lewiston is a charming town that offers virtually everything you may require.
The space
This is a beautiful cabin with an up north look and feel. It has an outdoor shower. The bathroom is an outhouse. The water and shower are only on and available April through October. The price includes the main cabin and the guest cabin. Both have electric heat and air conditioning. The main cabin has an electric fridge and freezer. We do not provide bedding, pillows, towels, washcloths, or basic shower soaps. Dish soap and hand soap are provided. Each booking includes two trash bags. We recommend bringing extra trash bags, your own toilet paper and paper towel. Two propane tanks are included for the shower and the grills, however, we do not provide propane. They may or may not be full from the last guest. If you run out, please exchange it at a local store. Snow is not plowed during the winter. You may need a 4 x 4 or an all-wheel-drive vehicle. Mice are present and active year-round in northern Michigan. While we do what we can to prevent them, do not be surprised to see them or evidence of them at times. The cabin does have a fully stocked kitchen. The interior stove and oven are not available for guest use. we do have a crockpot, coffee maker, electric skillet, Blackstone griddle, barbecue grill, Tupperware and a full pan set. There are only four chairs for around the fire. Please bring extra if you need them. Firewood is not included in your stay.
Guest access
Guests we have access to both cabin. Guests will not have access to the camper on the property or the large storage shed. They will have access to the outhouse. And shower when the water is on April through September.
Other things to note
The little details…
• To control the A/C or heat in the main cabin simply use the remote.
• To light the grill or blackstone, open the lid, turn on propane tank, turn burners on high, press the ignitor. Please turn off the tank when you are done. You must clean each grill after each use or a $25 fee will apply.
• To use the air conditioning in the guest cabin make sure you vent out a window.
• NO SHOES INSIDE. No smoking of any kind inside.
• Firewood is owner use only.
• There is a Bluetooth speaker that can be connected. Please charge it for the next guest.
• Be courteous of the neighbors and keep noise down. Quiet time is 8 AM to 10 PM.
• Lost key will result in a $40 replacement cost.
• To lock the slider use the white rod. Do not lock the old wooden door unless you are inside.
• Do not use metal utensils in the pans.
• Do not use oven or stove inside. Owner use only. Do not touch the large propane tanks outside.
• You must wash all dishes and put them before you leave.
• Please take all the trash out to the bin when you leave. Please take any cans with you.
• Leave trash can by the road. Trash day is Friday. The outhouse is for guest use.
• Do not go by the camper on the property.
• The TV in the kids room is a smart TV. You have to connect to your hotspot if you have one. No wifi.
• Coffee is available, drink up. The sink water is safe to drink.
• Each booking includes two trash bags. Please don’t use any of the Ziplock bags, aluminum foil, ect.
• Throw away all leftovers and expired food from the fridge when you leave.
• Please be courteous of our cabin and respect it. Please do not open anything that says owner use only. The bar area is also owner use only.
• Please clean up all toys and chairs and close the umbrella when you leave. Also cover and clean the grills.
• Shower soaps are for owner use only.
• If propane is low or out please exchange it at the store. We do not provide propane.
• Park behind the guest shed. No on street parking.
• 4 chairs are behind the shed and a cooler is inside. Please brush them off when you are done if dirty.
• Keep doors closed so bugs don’t enter.
• Sink and shower water can be extremely hot.
• To use the shower, simply turn on the hose in the shower area. Do not touch the controls on the left. Only use the far right control. Make sure the propane is on. If you want a cold shower, leave the propane off.
• Bedding, pillows and towels are not provided. Please bring your own.
• Do not leave food out. Mice are everywhere in northern Michigan.
• Go slow through the neighborhood. People will complain or yell.
• Do not open the well house door unless it’s an emergency.
• Water is off during the winter. Water and shower only be available April through September.
