Welcome to Riverside Cottage, a vacation home that sleeps up to 10 guests and is located on the Maury River just minutes from historic Lexington, Virginia in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley. Conveniently accessible from highways I-64 and I-81 and just an hour drive from Charlottesville and Roanoke, the vacation rental has everything you need to make your next family reunion or gathering one you’ll reminisce about for years to come.

Perfect location
Spent a couple of nights while my son visited W&L. The house was a short drive from W&L, VMI, restaurants, shopping, gas stations, etc. The house itself was very, very clean and comfortable. Plenty of room for the four of us, and the house can comfortably accommodate more. Although we had some neighbors and folks relaxing in the river a bit downstream as it was unseasonably hot, it was still very quiet and relaxing. It was nice to see people out enjoying the river and beautiful surroundings. We also were successful fishing in the evening! We would love to return during our future visits to W&L over the next four years. Thank you for making our stay so wonderful.

Not directly on river; very clean; easy to reach managers
This home is very pleasant and comfortable. Most items were supplied as indicated, although the kitchen needed a pair of scissors and a basic can opener. We had to call for service when one of the toilets began leaking water all over the floor, and both the manager and owner were very helpful. It turned out that they were planning to replace that toilet, and had to accelerate the job and do it during our stay. Fishing in the river was decent. Our biggest surprise was that neighbors were close on three sides of the property, and you had to cross a meadow next to another house to get to the river. Also, use caution when parking - a large tree branch fell down and dented my daughter's car, so try not to park under the dead tree.

Our family loved the layout of the house, the comfort of the beds, the porches and outdoor recreation. The easy drive into town made the location convenient. The house is on a quiet hillside with beautiful views to the Maury River. The days we were there the temperature was into the 90s, so a swim was a perfect afternoon activity. Overall, the place is clean and comfortable with great sofa seating and decks. We also used the canoe and corn hole yard games. We would love to stay there again!

We enjoyed staying at this great cottage by the river during our visit to town for a horse show. It's close to the horse center and a great escape from the show grounds. We had a lovely Easter weekend in Lexington, thanks to our spacious and well-appointed accommodation. Our family, college student son, and a few of his friends all had plenty of space to gather (and spread out) comfortably and enjoy the gorgeous setting. The Maury riverfront is stunning, and while it was too cold to canoe this trip, it’s definitely on our to-do list. The beds were so comfortable, everyone slept like babies, and we had everything we needed to make the most of our stay. We cooked out on the gas grill, lounged in the hammock, walked around the picturesque area, played cornhole, and watched Final Four basketball. Everyone who visited us agreed that this is one of the best rentals they’d ever seen. Thank you for creating an ideal retreat with easy access to town; we hope to return soon.

Quiet and Convenient for Lexington
We were 4 adults in Lexington for a horse show at the Virginia Horse Center and the house worked perfectly. Beautiful, quiet setting just minutes to the Horse Center, grocery shopping and downtown Lexington. The house was clean, comfortable and a restful place to begin and end our busy days. Plenty of room for all of us with both private spaces and great common spaces.
