London Townhouse in Excellent Central Location

A three double bedroom terraced house, in the residential neighbourhood of Kennington. Open plan ground floor with living room, kitchen and dining area and three double bedrooms upstairs, one en-suite and two with a shared bathroom. Walking distance to central London's famous attractions and with excellent transport links to the rest of the city.

House Layout:

Ground Floor

Open plan living, kitchen and dining area. Fully equipped kitchen with essential cooking utensils, microwave, dishwasher, oven, kettle and toaster. The living room has a TV with a built-in DVD player and connects to on-demand streaming services through a Roku stick.

First Floor

Master bedroom with king size double bed, large wardrobe, and en-suite shower room. Main bathroom serving the second floor bedrooms.

Second Floor

Two further double bedrooms, one king size, one standard double, both with wardrobes. The larger room has its own wash basin. A washer-dryer is also located on this floor.

Getting Around:

The house has excellent public transport links, served by the London Underground at Vauxhall (Victoria Line) and Kennington (Northern Line) both under 10 minutes walk away. Extensive bus services also run from Vauxhall Bus Station and Kennington Cross. There are local 'Boris Bike' stands on Vauxhall Street and at Kennington Cross. River boats depart from St George's Wharf.

Unfortunately the house does not have a dedicated parking space but there is on-street parking at Montford Place.

Please note the listing is heavily discounted due to a large construction site next to the house. Please see the photo. This only operates from 8am to 5pm, when you should be out exploring London! During the day time there will be construction noise.

There are residents in the flat below the Airbnb, please be considerate to them particularly between 11pm and 7am.

We really liked the accommodation. The description fits very well. You can reach the underground station Vauxhall and Oval very comfortably in 7 minutes. There are a Tesco supermarket and various take aways or restaurants.

Great space in convenient location
This property has three bedrooms and two bath with one being very large. The living space is comfortable with a huge kitchen. You are literally next to a Tesco. Vauxhall line is definitely closest. And 1.5 miles to Parliament on foot. Nick is incredibly responsive and easy to work with. I recommend this listing.

The Great and the Bad
Steps from a full grocery. Well decorated. Lighting fantastic. Didn’t want to write this. Also, contacted property owner/sent pics. Owner is slow to reply or doesn’t. We contacted him days before check in to see if we could arrive a tad early; no reply. Also, had major problems with cleanliness and owner didn’t reply for 22 hours until we sent a follow up message. We are avid travelers who VRBO whenever we can with 4 kids. Ages 8-14. We have done VRBO across the USA including Hawaii. We also did 3 VRBOs in France on this same trip. No VRBO has ever been this dirty. The owner said he uses a company for cleaning. The front yard =full of trash. Microwave turns on but doesn’t heat. 1/4 a roll of TP in one of the two bathrooms for 6 ppl. We had to buy our own. The main bed had multiple hairs in it. The pillows are orange with age. The first night I grabbed a blanket out of the wardrobe in the dark. In morning, I discovered it had blood and another stain on it. For the next nights, I slept wrapped in bath towels. When owner finally offered help he was kind to bring us all brand new linens. The linens in the other rooms had body fluids and make-up stains. One room’s duvet insert has mold growing on it. Mold in main bath. Hairs stuck to door frames/tiles. Found large hairballs on carpet, evidenced no vacuuming. Stayed end Oct. waited until Nov 26 to write review hoping owner would reply/meet request for refund. Nope. Be cautious! In fairness, gave owner all chances to reply…

We loved the location of this property, it was an easy walk to the tube stations. The instruction to get into the home were seamless. The home is very tired, needs some TLC. The stairs are narrow, not easy with large suitcases.

Family Vacation to London
First off, I would like to say that the location of this house was amazing! Yes, there was construction near by but most of it completed and we never heard it once the 7 days we were there. This was our first time in London and I was thoroughly impressed with the transit system. This house is within walking distance of 2 tub e stations and numerous bus stations. We bought an Oyster card for our time there and used public transit the whole time. There is also a ton of pubs, restaurants, cafes and a market right down the street. I know it states in the the description this is a 5 star accommodation marked down due to the construction but I would not, and am not rating this a 5 star. The beds were awful and uncomfortable. You could feel the springs in the mattress and they felt like they were from a pull out couch. All the pillows were flat and old. There were no hand towels for any of the bathrooms and the bath towels were thin and old. There is no instruction book on how to work the oven, microwave, TV or washing machine/dryer. It would be beneficial for the owner to provide this for the guests so that they do not have to bother them with questions. The house is super cute but could use a major deep clean. Dust bunnies and mold in the shower. I will say that none of these things deterred us from enjoying our time and may not be a big deal for other people. I just wanted to be honest. The owner is pretty quick to respond to messages but it did take a couple before a response.

Nick was great with communication. Answered all my questions from the time I booked until I left the states. Our family of 5 stayed comfortably but agree with another review that it is not an American king. It’s even smaller than our queen but slightly bigger than a double. Great location for public transportation. Family of 5 stayed comfortably. Living room area was a little small for us but exactly how it looks in description.

Great Location, Mediocre Experience (at best)
The pros: - Great location in Vauxhall, and a quick ride to central London -Right next door to Tesco which was very convenient - Was decorated super cute with nice art, especially downstairs -Well stocked kitchen with a full size refrigerator Cons: - Very poor communication with the owner. I sent a message on Vrbo 5 months prior (no response) and 1 week prior to check in with no response. I had to call to reach the owner. During our stay I texted the owner with a question with no response from him - Loud construction near the rental, which owner did fully disclose in the listing - Dirty upon check-in. I found hairballs on the floors and my kids' feet with extremely dirty while barefoot just from walking around in the house - Very uncomfortable, thin beds and dirty stained pillows - Many stairs to bedrooms and difficult for anyone less than capable bodied adults (my mom and kids) - No electrical outlets in the bathroom for hairdryers, etc. No toilet paper holders in bathrooms. -Awkward kitchen layout with the dishwasher/sink in a separate room - Microwave appeared to be broken. It turned on but didn't heat up food. I texted the owner to see if I did something wrong and he didn't text me back. -Many knobs missing off the drawers Overall 2.5/5

We stayed 5 nights at the house. Overall we had a nice stay and the space/rooms were great for our family. I was a little disappointed at the dirtiness of the front yard when you came through the gate, and the couch was definitely not something I wanted to sit on. We attempted to do laundry but couldn’t ever get the drying feature to work even with finding a manual online and attempting to get guidance from home owner. It would be helpful to have written directions somewhere for future guests. The house overall could probably use a freshen up because the space itself is ideal for a family.

Great stay at a great townhouse!
We traveled from Oregon to London for Spring Break (me, husband and 3 teens) . The owner was very transparent about construction going on next door, which it was but we were out of the place early every day so it didn't really impact us. The townhouse was very much as stated in the VRBO description. We had a couple of issues with things like the dishwasher, but the host was very responsive and even came over 1 evening to help us out. He was really nice and helped to make our trip even better. There is a supermarket 1/2 block away, which was really convenient. For US travelers: We were surprised that there weren't hand towels or washcloths in the bathrooms. Apparently this is normal for England. Also, King-size beds seem to be smaller than in the States.

A great place for a girls trip conveniently located to 3 different underground terminals. The sink in the upper bedroom was super helpful but the lighting wasn’t great in that mirror. I would definitely recommend to others and come back. Didn’t hear any construction noise. The Tesco grocery store right next door was an additional bonus.

When we arrived, the condition of the fence and courtyard gave us pause, but once we were inside, the townhouse was cute, cozy and clean! The location was great. Transportation was available nearby and the area itself had restaurants, pubs, groceries, and anything else you’d want.

Very convenient to transportation, nice inside and comfy. Our adult family enjoyed the location. One minor issue with drains was immediatly cleared up by owner. Full kitchen was appreciated and used. Quiet neighborhood for the most part. Would recommend to anyone.
