Shenandoah Trip
We stayed here for our trip to Shenandoah National Park.
Upon arrival, we met the owners of the house (privately owned and ran through a rental agency: Evolve). The hosts were both very friendly and accommodating. On a side note, if you have questions, message the number provided as Evolve is slow to answer and they simply manage the listing of the property.
We found the location to be convenient for what we needed. Only 15-20 minutes from Luray and 30 minutes to the Thorton Gap entrance gate at SNP . The house is super close to the local canoe and kayak outfitters and other local options.
The house is among a small neighborhood of local rental properties with one house being super close. This isn't much of a problem for us but we would really like to see blinds or curtains be added in the living and dining room as the neighboring house had guests and were outside late into the night. The bathroom window could also use a covering as well.
The kitchen, however small, did have the vast majority of the items we needed. Only cooking oil and/or butter need brought along, with any of your must haves.
As some other reviews have noted, the reception is quite poor. I struggled at times to load my gps, email, webpages, or even stream music. You should consider this if you require reception. There is also no wifi, nor TV programming. There is however a DVD player with some movies at the house. With no wifi, we recommend you do any initial research on activities/travels before arrival.
