We arrived for our stay. Property wasn’t what we were expecting. Ceiling fan was very dusty, as was the ceiling above the fan. However, we were pressed for time as we had a show to get to in the next 90 minutes. When we arrived, it was 62 degrees inside. We turned on the heat since it was to be 43 degrees overnight. Nothing, no sound, no heat. We immediately contacted the host. They did show up quickly to try to address the issue. After a bit of time, he stated he would give us a refund as he couldn’t get the heat to work. We quickly gathered our things, since now we had about 50 mins to find another place, get ready, and get to our show. We packed the car, and was getting in when he came back again. He stated the he got the heat to come on and would now NOT be giving us a refund. Really? When we arrive somewhere, we expect the property to be ready for us. We don’t expect for the heat to not work and have to almost miss a show we also paid for because no one thought to ensure the heat worked on a 40 degree night. I do understand that things happen. However, I also think that when when something happens that disrupts someone’s stay that things should be made right. You can’t just say “oh well, it’s fixed now, try to enjoy the rest of your vacation.” Also, once you promise to give a refund you don’t come back and say you will not honor that.
