„We would like to express our gratitude for the wonderful time. It was our first family vacation. We spent almost 3 weeks in the lodge, along with our 21-month-old daughter and our dog. „So lovely, really homely. All the essentials plus bits like sandwich boxes and a slow cooker in the kitchen. Tourist leaflets and info pack could do with udating. Would be helpful to have supermarket/ local market/pharmacy details. Limited rainy day things to do in the flat. No books, family games etc. However, Carlisle nearby. „I wouid recommend this property but would make sure other guests jnow there is nothing within walking distance and a car is needed to get ro the nearest pub/supermarket. The property was lovely but the blinds needed dusting, there were dirty towels in the washing machine and the laminate on the tables was taped up.“

„The cottage was cosy and had everything we needed. A minor niggle, but it was a bit cluttered with cushions and throws in the sitting room - the throws just slid off the leather sofas and the cushions were too big and too many, so were surplus to requirements. The location suited us very well, with a host of lovely walks and places to visit nearby. We had a wonderful break and can recommend!“

„Kippford is a pretty village on a beautiful river estuary and the location of Thornleigh is stunning - a stones throw from the beach where we swam and paddle boarded. The house is very spacious and well equipped with amazing views to appreciate the sunsets. The house is comfortable rather than luxurious but that suited us perfectly as we could relax and feel at home and we have all agreed that we will make Thornleigh an annual event!“
