Wonderful holidays in a wonderful house
My family (wife, 2 children and I) spent two wonderful weeks in the beautiful cottage of Gabriella. From the very first moment, we had fallen in love with the big old house right next to the clock tower (the bell was always silent...). A washing machine is available in the basement. On the first floor, there is a living room with a large dining table, a sofa bed and a practically equipped kitchen with a gas stove. On the second floor, there are two bedrooms (each with a double bed) and a bathroom with shower. A highlight is the small terrace where we had dinner together. We all had plenty of space, and we found the lovely décor very cozy.
Within a radius of only 50m, there is a small shop (where you can buy bread in the morning), a good butcher's shop, a pizzeria and - almost right on the doorstep - a restaurant with Tuscan specialties.
Marciano della Chiana is a little jewel in the south-east of Tuscany, still undiscovered by tourist crowds. The place has a rich history, a magnificent location, and great tourist attractions are not far away. Among other things, we visited:
- Lucigniano
- Monte San Savino
- Castiglione Fiorentino
- Cortona
- Arezzo
- Lake Trasimeno
- Montepulciano
- Pienza
- Montalcino
- Siena
- Florence
as well as the Ligurian and Adriatic Sea (each about 2 hours away).
We can highliy recommend the house of Gabriella if you want to get to know „real“ Tuscany. It's very comfy. We had a great time and would love to come back!
