Country Home with Private Swimming Pond and Beautiful Mountain Views

Welcome to Fox Ridge, a four season vacation rental in Margaretville, NY. Located on top of the mountain at 2100 feet overlooking the valley with spectacular views of the private pond and the Catskill Forest Preserve on 9 very private acres. Only 2½ hours from New York City, Fox Ridge is an inviting escape for you, your family, and friends.

Come and enjoy our spacious, beautifully furnished contemporary home. Take in the sweeping views of the mountains and large swimming pond from the newly expanded deck or from inside the glass enclosed great room with soaring ceiling and stone fireplace. Enjoy the warmth of a roaring fire on a snowy winter night or on a cool summer evening. Come in the fall and take in the brilliant color display across the valley or rejuvenate in the spring with new life around you.

Eat in, cook on the grill, or try one of the many excellent area restaurants. Spend an evening at home playing pool or watching a movie on one of the flat screen TVs. Relax in the hot tub under the stars or roast marshmallows on the fire pit. Swim or kayak in the pond, dive in from the dock or go hiking on one of the easily accessible trails. Finish up the day in our new outdoor shower.

Try your hand at flyfishing on a clean mountain stream or golf at one of the nearby courses. Belleayre Mountain offers excellent skiing for the entire family in the winter and outdoor concerts in the summer. All of these activities and more are within minutes of the house.

The 3 level house has 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths. The bedrooms are furnished with extra comfy beds and fine linens. There are two bedrooms with queen beds and one with twins, comfortably accommodating 6 people. Come with your family and friends or enjoy a romantic getaway for 2.

Beautiful house in the Catskills

The house had the best views - great Mountain views plus a pond. House was roomy and had everything we needed. Great hot tub and was close to several ski resorts. Lots of games and a pool table. Very easy check-in process and the hosts were extremely responsive and helpful with any requests.

Beautiful place to stay

My family spent two August weeks staying at Neil's property. Just days beforehand, a huge storm hit the area, causing some disruption. Neil proactively communicated with me while everything got fixed. The house is very nice but the pond and surrounding area are the reasons to stay here. The property's pond is beautiful, serene, and wonderful to swim in. Every night we watched the fog roll into the valley below and every morning we watched it burn off. We hiked, swam, and kayaked and ate at many great restaurants. Definitely recommend.

A perfectly peaceful vacation!

We just spent 6 nights at this beautiful Catskills property. The views were magnificent and we loved hanging out on the deck just listening to the crickets, frogs and birds and to see the occasional deer pass by. We spent time everyday on the pond in the provided kayaks which was such a treat and one of our favorite things to do. The property is so private and peaceful- it was exactly what we wanted. The house itself was beautifully furnished and had everything we needed. We loved playing pool with our kids and loved a dip in the hot tub. Thank you Neil and Erin for sharing your stunning home with us and allowing us to make wonderful family memories! You are excellent hosts and we would love to return in the future!

This is the third time we’ve stayed here and each time it’s been just fantastic.The house is located in an oasis of peace.All you can hear is sound of birds and frogs.There is also private pond where we and our dog can cool off.Our dog loves this place.he can run around property,play,swim. ITS ONE OF THE FEW PLACES WHERE DOGS ARE WELCOME AND WHERE THEY FEEL AT EASY. House is very comfortable we found everything we needed.The owners are very friendly and helpful. HIGHLY RECOMMEND ! Lovely country retreat

We had a terrific three night stay. We enjoyed the fully-stocked kitchen, large deck, grill, gorgeous field, and secluded location. We swam in the pond and soaked in the hot tub and enjoyed the pool table. Owner communicated in advance about furniture being removed due to a flood in the basement, which meant we couldn't enjoy the basement lounge area, but we were still able to use the pool table which was important for my tween son! The pond was wonderful for swimming & sunning and our dog was in heaven, running free through the field, swimming with us, and sunning on the dock. Beds were comfortable and everything clean & convenient! Nice bathroom towels, and plenty of outdoor towels provided, too. We couldn't get outdoor shower working correctly but that didn't detract from our enjoyment of the property much at all. Gorgeous view of the mountain range from the deck.

Anniversary Vacation

Stayed with my wife and dog for 8 nights. The property with the pond is amazing. Our dog never had so much fun. The deck, hot tub, and grill were all top notch. So were the beds. Very comfortable. Had a blast. Don't hesitate to book.

Lovely Property

We had a great stay. We enjoyed the hot tub & fire pit. Pearl, my daughter's English Cocker Spaniel, loved swimming in the pond. Having the locking gates on the deck were great & the dog loved going in & out of the house/ deck without a leash. Margaretville itself was very small, but we had several meals at fabulous restaurants there. We did a day trip to Woodstock. I would recommend that to others considering the property. It's about a 45 minute drive from Margaretville.

This is a beautiful home that is spacious, comfortable, and well-appointed with everything you need for a Catskills getaway. Proximity to Margaretville/Arkville/Andes makes it a vacation destination to be sure. The view and surroundings are breathtaking from day to night. Hot tub and pool table are the perfect amenities. The view from the porch should be a picture on your wall. Being able to see it in person, with the sounds of nature around you, was the perfect setting for a weekend getaway. The house was nice, clean and comfortable, though we spent most of our times outdoors. We would definitely be willing to come back again

Wonderful retreat

House was very nice, just like the photos. Our whole family loved jumping in the pond and swimming! The hot tub worked perfectly and was enjoyed by all! Margretville was a small version of Woodstock with gift shops, art,thrift store and places to eat. House was a little far from popular hikes and attractions, about an hour drive. Other than that it was a perfect vacation.

Fantastic stay!

The house and property were even more beautiful than the pictures! Everything inside was clean and well cared for. The furnishings were tasteful and the kitchen very well stocked, not only with pots and pans, but pretty much any spices you might need. Even the sheets on the beds were high quality! The property was also amazing! The view of the mountains was spectacular and the pond! The pond was perfect! My husband and I spent hours out by the pond everyday with our dog who loves to swim. Sometimes a pond can be a little stagnant. Not this pond! It was so clean with lots of visible fish and frogs and no lily pads or undergrowth. In other words, a perfect pond. Overall, it was a dream Catskill Mountain vacation:) We will definitely be back!

Relaxing Retreat

Nice, Relaxing Weekend

I rented the house for a mini getaway for my husband’s 40th birthday. We had friends and kids with us and everyone LOVED the views and the quiet getaway. The kids loved making s’mores by the fire pit, and finding frogs by the pond. We also really enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub. The house was comfortable and had everything that we needed. Great Spot!

We have stayed here a few times during the winter to ski at Belleayre. It's an easy drive to the mountain. The house is cozy, and the beds are warm and wonderful. I always sleep well here. The host and I communicated easily and quickly. Love the pool table in the lower floor, too!
