Come and relax at our beautifully newly renovated (2023) French retreat and escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Why not start the morning with a coffee on the terrace overlooking the garden and pool followed by a mind and body workout on the oak-tree-shaded Yoga Terrace. Yoga mats, weights, bands and skipping ropes are all provided.
The rest of the day can be spent unwinding by the pool with a good book whilst the younger guests enjoy the irresistible water of the heated pool. The pool is private, measures 10m x 5m and has sunken steps so you can sit and read. For child safety there is an electric pool cover. On the pool terrace there are cushioned sun loungers, cushioned outdoor sofa area and a dining area for you to enjoy lunch poolside while taking in the stunning countryside views.
Below the house there is a bar & games room [known as a ‘Cave’]. This is complete with bar, table football and a pool table so there's something for all ages. The Cave is an ideal place to escape the afternoon sun for a while and is also a great spot for evening drinks and family fun.
There is an outdoor table tennis table on one of the terraces, together with a basketball hoop and a wide selection of outdoor games (swing ball, boules, football etc). If you’d rather relax on the sofa then you can watch FreeSat TV, Netflix, Amazon Prime or enjoy one of the selection of DVDs provided. There is also a choice of board games, so there’s plenty to keep everyone entertained!
At night the pool terrace is an ideal spot to lay back on the sun loungers and indulge in some stargazing since there is virtually no light pollution whilst enjoying an aperif.
If you fancy getting out and about in the day, you could explore one of the surrounding medieval villages, go antiques hunting, try some local wine at one of the many local vineyards, or head to one of the nearby freshwater lakes where you can swim, lie on their beach or try some water sports and their huge inflatable.
For the thrill seekers there is outdoor Go-Karting in Cahors which is about half an hour's drive away. There are single and double go karts [which allow one person to drive whilst the other is the passenger].
The area is surrounded by countryside and is lovely to go for a wander to literally nowhere in particular. If you are a keen cyclist and are bringing [or renting] bikes, there are miles of quiet country roads to explore, so it’s ideal for all ages, and if you are staying during sunflower season the vast fields of sunflowers are really something to be seen...
In the evening, you can enjoy a BBQ on the terrace or perhaps head to one of the local fetes where there will be local food, wine and music. There are local villages a short drive away offering restaurants if you don't fancy cooking.
We have aimed to make the villa a home-from home, and so it is equipped with everything we think you could possibly need; towels, bed linen, beach/pool towels, high chair, travel cot, charcoal Weber BBQ, gas Weber BBQs and all top quality appliances. It is very private, with only two other houses in the hamlet. The grounds are approx 1.5 acres and there is a small woodland area too.
The nearest supermarkets are about 12 mins drive, and the nearest village with a restaurant is historic Tournon D’Agenais which is just a 5 min drive.
Moncuq and Montarayal both approx 10 mins drive.
The nearest airports are Toulouse (1hr 20min drive) or Bordeaux (1hr 45min drive) give-or-take.
