Our 4 season cottage is situated 400m from beautiful Lake Winnipeg and offers year-round enjoyment for families looking for a getaway! Our 3 bedroom cottage has large windows looking out towards the lake area offering beautiful scenery year-round. The front of the cottage includes a kitchen/dinning room, living room and access to the screened-in sunroom. Bedroom one has a queen bed, bedroom two has a bunk bed (full and twin beds), and bedroom three has a twin bed. All bedrooms have ample closet space. There is a hide-a-bed couch in the living room.
The cottage is fully equipped with an electric fireplace, forced-air gas furnace, air conditioning, an ample hot water tank, 3 piece bath, enclosed sun room and a laundry room. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, utensils, cookware, coffee pot, kettle, toaster and microwave. Complimentary coffee, tea and bottled water are available for your use. We offer free Wifi and a have a smart TV to watch all your streaming services. There are board games, books and magazines to enjoy. There is a DVD player with a selection of movies and TV shows.
An oversized single garage is available for use to store water craft, bikes, etc., in the summer and ice fishing equipment in the winter. The garage is stocked with yard games such as ladder ball, crocket and badminton. There are soccer, volleyball and basketballs, tennis racquets and tennis balls. There are four bikes to use and a wagon to transport whatever you need to the beach!
Close to all amenities such as Julia's restaurant, Matlock Village Junction store and the Whytewold Emporium restaurant and boutique. Access to the beautiful beaches, the walkable piers to the lake, a 7 minute drive to historic Winnipeg Beach and a 20 min drive to the town of Gimli. Across the road from the cottage at the Dunnottar Community Club there is an incredible children's playground for all to enjoy.
This quiet community comes to life in the summer (beaches, tennis and basketball courts, cycling all throughout the village of Matlock, walking and hiking), and offers a peaceful winter retreat with groomed cross-country and snowmobile trials. Lake Winnipeg's ice fishing is world renowned!
The beaches of Lake Winnipeg offer lots to entertain during the summer months. Board Walk days at Winnipeg Beach (July), Saturday nights live bands at Winnipeg Beach throughout the summer, Gimli's International Film Festival (July) and Icelandic Festival (August) are must to visit! The Arnes Market (Saturday and Sunday, all summer) is a great place to enjoy local artisans and food!
Our cottage is quick get away from city life, only 45 minutes from the north perimeter of Winnipeg to the beaches of Lake Winnipeg. We offer a peaceful, family-oriented cottage, so if you are looking to play loud music or throw parties, please keep looking. We value our neighbours privacy as well!
