Upon arrival, the entry code didn't work. Host was pretty quick to respond with a new code, but it added unnecessary stress. The yard was unkempt. We visited in early May, but the grass definitely should have been mowed (all the neighbors had mowed already), and it was a beautiful weekend so cushions should have been available for the deck chairs. Though the neighbors are quiet, there is a lot of freeway noise, so the listing title is a bit misleading.
The house was spartan, but mostly clean, except for the moldy left-over omelet in the refrigerator. The ceiling fan in one bedroom looked scary! It was not secured to the ceiling well, the lights were damaged, one of four cans missing with electrical tape on the connection end, and another swung loosely. There were no extra towels or bedding. It would have been nice to have a blanket other than the thin comforter for the beds. We hung the bath towels outside to air out to get the musty smell out before using. There was only one dish towel. Since there is no dishwasher, it would have been nice to have more kitchen towels. We ran out of dish soap, and there was only laundry detergent under the sink.
When departing, we were to put garbage and recycling in the container along the side of the garage, but they were already overflowing. We just felt sort of unwelcomed, sort of like we were a distant afterthought.
