„Cannot recommend this property highly enough. It was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for our 7 night stay. It was very spacious considering we had 9 people staying which also included 3 young children. The view was spectacular and hosts Barb and Graham were wonderful. We travel to Mitimiti every couple of years to visit family so hoping we can make this property our “home away from home” in the future. Thank you for a wonderful stay!“

„It’s a run down bach! The pictures look great but unfortunately the accommodation is not! Not only the garden needs to take care of. The bathroom especially the shower is moldy. The top of the fridge was super sticky. It might be a good backpacking accommodation but not the one we expected looking at the pics. We decided not to stay there and left the place. „My daughter and I loved staying in this accomodation with a beautiful view of the dunes right across the road. Beautiful sunsets and just a few steps away to the waters edge and beautiful beach. This place had everything we needed with some amazing places to visit.“

„The Tunnel House was cozy, clean, and well-maintained. The location was perfect for relaxation and exploration. Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend it to others looking for a peaceful getaway.“

„Overall, loved it. Bathroom was A1 but we saw teeth flossers and a few things laying on the ground. Plus we did not use the BBQ because it needed a good clean. Could have used an extra plate or two.The cabin was very clean and the location was quiet and secluded. Despite a couple of minor things, I would stay here again. Never saw the owner, or anyone else actually.“

„As advertised, this is a nice big property in a terrific location that is very run down. If space and location are important, then it's a terrific place to stay. We had a lovely holiday here with children and their grandparents. The kitchen is very well equipped.“

„On arrival we were unable to open the lock box, so were unable to lock up when ever we went out.Pots and pans needed to be cleaned before using.Location was perfect.Would have been nice to of had some spices and oil available.“

„Perfect property for a large family birthday celebration, this is a very well set up home and has the most beautiful views out to the harbour and sand dunes , the weather was perfect and the deck was well used over the entire stay!We had a lovely weekend away together and highly recommend this property for the home and the location. “

Good hotel choice in Orewa

"Overall good hotel right at the water. We had a room without sea view, quiet with parking directly in front of the room. Bed was super comfy, however the room could've had a little more thought put into it. There were no electrical outlets next to the bed, plus the switch for the night stand lights could not be reached when lying in bed. The windows could not be closed, so we had bugs inside. The bathroom did not have a fan to expel the moist air, which causes problems on the ceiling. In addition to that, the joints in the shower could use some extended cleaning or replacement. Overall good (8/10) but some room for improvement."
