Relax and recharge at this cozy, modern cabin, less than 10 minutes from downtown Mountain View.
20x40 in-ground swimming pool completed in 2023!
Situated on a hill overlooking a 300-acre farm with plenty of space for walking or ATV riding, also connecting to miles of back roads. Enjoy the view while you rock on the front porch, relax around the pool or fire pit, or soak in your private hot tub on the cabin porch!
ABOUT THE CABIN: Newly constructed in 2022, this property offers an updated take on the ever-popular cabin-style home. It is a cozy, peaceful space, full of natural light from its large windows and skylights.
It is furnished with a mix of rustic and Mid-Century influences, with warm and whimsical touches throughout.
The open-space kitchen and living area opens onto a covered porch with plenty of seating to enjoy the panoramic view. There is a propane grill and picnic table, Solo Stove fire pit with firewood provided, and an inflatable hot tub that is kept heated and ready to accommodate up to 6. A 20x40 in-ground saltwater pool was completed on the property in 2023 and is available seasonally for cabin guests. (See below for information about the pool.)
The cabin overlooks a farm of approximately 300 acres, where guests are welcome to walk or drive around. It includes a small creek, ponds, woods, and fields.
CABIN DETAILS:
Bedroom 1: includes a queen bed (a retro-style platform bed with storage headboard). The en suite bathroom includes a tiled walk-in shower with body wash and shampoo provided.
Bedroom 2: has two double/full beds. The bathroom has a tub/shower combo, and a washer & dryer are available in this bathroom.
The living room features a leather sectional sofa and two recliners, as well as a twin-mattress daybed with a slide-out twin trundle. (Slide-out is good for kids.)
The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, cookware, and paper products, as well as cooking staples like flour, sugar, oil, and spices.
The coffee station features a Keurig Duo machine that makes k-cup pods or a carafe. A selection of k-cups, ground coffee, and creamer and sweeteners are provided.
POOL INFORMATION:
The 20x40 pool features a 1-foot deep tanning ledge across one end with two bubblers. Pool depth varies from 3 feet (for a short distance in front of the ledge steps) to a maximum depth of 7.5 feet.
There is currently a 9x11 adjustable patio umbrella, a variety of seating around the pool, and a propane fire pit in the pool area. The pool area is fenced. A picnic table and grill will be added for summer 2024.
The pool is available to all overnight guests at the cabin. Access is included in your booking rate and is contingent on your acknowledgment of pool rules and liability waiver.
The pool is located approximately 65 yards from the cabin and is not overlooked by any other property. During your stay, someone will come by the pool for daily inspections and maintenance as needed. Especially if you are staying for several days, the pool may also be used on a very limited basis by your host's family. However, cabin guests will have priority and can be assured of lots of private pool time daily.
The cabin and yard and hot tub (on the cabin porch) are exclusively for cabin guests.
AS OF MARCH 2024: Plans are to have the pool open in May and keep it open through October.
Addition of a pool heater is also planned, but it is not certain when it will be installed. (We also plan to build a bathroom/changing room on the pool deck. This listing will be updated with further details on these projects.)
Meanwhile, water temperature will depend on the weather, and there will be no guarantee about temperature at any time. Most likely, June through early September will be the best bet for comfortable swimming temps.
Pets are welcome at the cabin but not in the pool.
Please feel free to ask any questions that you might have before booking!
PROPERTY DETAILS:
The cabin is located right off the paved road (not visible from the road), but there is a rather steep gravel driveway off the hill to the house. The driveway circles, so you can enter or exit either direction. There is also a path going off the hill from the cabin onto the farm below, and you are welcome to walk down and explore (or drive but it's mainly suitable for ATVs right now). You can also drive around via the road and enter in a more level area.
NOTE: Access to some parts of the farm may occasionally be limited on certain dates during hay season (May-June) or deer season (mid-November to early December). Host will provide guests with further details and a map.
This property is just about a 7-minute drive from the courtsquare in Mountain View. When not relaxing at the cabin or on the farm, you will find many things to do around Mountain View, including Blanchard Springs Caverns and Recreation Area, Ozark Folk Center State Park, music on the square, fishing on the White River, and more!
