„The property was seeped in history. We stayed in room 3, the Kings room. A lovely compact room, spotless with lovely little touches such as a great selection of tea, coffee and hot chocolate, a fresh little bottle of milk, a comfy bed, feather duvet, black out curtains, great shower and toiletries. The breakfast was fantastic. George, our host gave us helpful information and free tickets to Raby Castle. Wow, what a fabulous castle. The rooms were stunning and thd guides very knowledgeable. „Wenn mal etwas anderes möchte, mit viel Ruhe, dann ist dies perfekt. 10 Minuten von Haltwhistle über kleine und enge Straßen. Vielleicht nicht nachts empfehlenswert. Lesley ist eine gute Gastgeberin und serviert feine und abwechslungsreiche Frühstücke. “

„Bin alleine gereist und habe Freunde besucht bzw. einen Ort, wo ich vor 25 Jahren einmal für 2 Jahre gelebt habe. Ich wollte mich für einige Tage vom Alltag zurück ziehen und nur abspannen, was dort auch gelungen ist.“

„Totally confused Receptionist. Claiming only one room of two booked, at much higher rate. Claiming all Expedia's fault. No, it wasn't. Their Reservation was clear, 2 doubles with bath and breakfast. So the 2nd room was freed with shared bathroom and both pretty battered. Expedia had already charged for both ordered rooms, hotel wanted to further charge, which I rejected. Beautiful area, also hotel location at the river bridge and parking. Look for another accomodation. Not worth the hassle.“

„We had a lovely stay at this hotel, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is great for visiting Vindolanda and Hadrien's Wall. The breakfast was excellent and evening meals were also good. I hope to return here.“
