Has potential, but needs a lot of work
The unit we stayed in was a different unit than pictured. It is on the second story, which the listing did not specify. You have to walk around back over brick that is uneven, slippery, and loose before climbing a metal staircase. It would not work for anyone with any mobility issues and honestly is not safe. The deadbolt on the entrance door does not work. The kitchen is functional and clean, but there is hardly any flatware/utensils.The living room has a couch that is stained, uncomfortable, and wasn't really usable. Multiple floor boards are missing large chunks of wood and several are not attached and pop up when you walk on them. The shower is nicely redone, but wasn't leveled to drain properly. The sink is not securely attached to the pedestal.The bed is quite comfortable, but the only pillows provided were totally flat and there was only a light summer blanket provided in December. There are shades, but it would be nice to have curtains to block some light out. The television has lines through the image and the remote doesn't work. The unit is heated and cooled by an ancient window unit that is very loud and smells of mold when it turns on. The door to the balcony locks, but doesn't close properly. There are two chairs out on the balcony but they cannot be used because they have no seat. While I realize this is a pretty inexpensive place to stay for the area, many of the issues make the unit unsafe.

It was ok.
This listing might run with a few different units in the one duplex. The photos don’t match to the furniture or having a bathtub, obviously wasn’t a huge deal but we only had a walk in shower. We personally had to go up some narrow stairs (old school style stairs) to get to our unit. We had a balcony on our unit that connects to the other unit. The only separation was a 2x4 board in the middle. My biggest concern was that the balcony door did not properly lock. The door is definitely older/affected by weather and is slightly warped plus the hole in the doorframe for the deadbolt wasn’t deep enough for the deadbolt to get locked in the way. It you were to turn the knob, the lock would unlock and open so there was a safety risk there if someone on the other side were to try coming in. (I do have photo/video evidence if I would be able to post it) Front door also was a little annoying to lock, had to lift the door very slightly to get it to line up properly for the deadbolt. It was all very basic/minimal things there for you to use. One bath towel and wash cloth per person and never found any hand towels for after bathroom use. No hooks to hang up towels after use either. The plates in the unit are too big for microwave. No extra blankets either, just whatever the bed is made with. New pillows or more pillows should be added, only 2 pillows and they were VERY THIN. I will give one plus that the A/C unit worked very well. Overall, I don’t think I would return to this location.

Le condo est magnifique avec ses plafonds très hauts et une salle de bain fraîchement rénové. Situé a 5 minutes de Frenchman Street et 10 minutes de la partie achalandé de Bourbon street. Le coin est calme et les voisins sympathiques. Marcus est un hôte disponible et très sympathique. Le condo est bien équipé et climatisé !

The pictures did not match up to what I stayed in. It was clean to an extent but it could have definitely been better. You could see stains on the couch and you could clearly see that the fireplace needs to be repaired and the bathroom sink needs to be attached to the fixture or wall. I would stay again if these things are addressed and fixed but if not then I would end up finding somewhere else.

Weekend getaway
While the place was sufficient to sleep in and get a shower; the pillows need an upgrade, the water pressure and temperature (short lived) definitely need to be much better. There is a fall risk if you lean even the smallest of pressure on the bathroom sink (it is not securely attached). We had an unfortunate power outage on night 2, from 8’ish to 10’ish pm, (if the owners got a notification about that, it would’ve been nice to receive an update). However, the neighbors were outside talking loud enough that we could easily hear their updates for power restoration. If not, we were considering packing up and heading home early. The pictures make it look very updated and remodeled; but there is a long 6”-8” crack to see through in the front door; and a large hole in the fireplace. I’d say we got what we paid for, but in a time of inflation—money is hard to part with for leisure time…so I must say that we will not be returning to this spot. For some this may be acceptable enough to return (and that’s ok). A positive is that the mattress was quite comfortable and the a/c did cool well.

This is one of those 5-under-the-circumstances reviews. It's a small place in a low-income neighborhood, but it's clean and functional and nicely funky in an older New Orleans kind of way, and it's just a few blocks from the corner of the French Quarter, so as a place to sleep and recuperate while enjoying time around the quarter, it's great. We had a little trouble with the key box during a late-night arrival - for others who aren't familiar with that model of MasterLock boxes, the secret is that the face pivots up towards you, so you set the combination, push down on the thumb wheel, then pull towards you somewhere along the lip under the numbers.

On the cheap with poor communicator owner
Will not return. It's a remodeled-on-the-cheap unit in a close to Frenchmen St neighborhood. The photos look better than reality. Pluses: AC worked, hot water for shower and it was freshly cleaned. Great value for expensive time in N.O. But you get what you pay for. Minuses: Early communication and entry instructions were very poor with the rental owner which was very hard for a busy weekend like JazzFest. Couch was filthy and unusable. No furniture, dresser or closet to put clothes. Minimal kitchen dishes, pots and accessories but we didn't cook or eat there. Wear shoes inside -- floor has exposed nails. Be careful -- bathroom sink is not attached to pedestal which is not attached to the floor. When leaned on, it can fall.

Loved: Really cool renovated shotgn house (an architecture style). Great location within walking distance of interesting neighbourhoods. Host quick to answer. To improve: Needs towel racks to hang damp towels. Sheets could use an upgrade. Baseboards could use a wipe but overall, very clean.

I realize this property is under construction, and it was very comfortable, however the bathroom sink and the pedestal are not attached in the bathroom and it's a safety hazard. There's also a lot of weak floor boards and they tend to pinch your feet if you're in bare feet.

Pretty dang good
Great neighborhood, quiet building, even near Mardi Gras time. A very minimalist place - just a couple kitchen items, hot plate, toaster oven, and microwave. Bathroom was great. Bed is right in the front room against the street side, but it was very comfy and felt very safe. An old building with all the charm that comes with it, but it was very, very tidy. I had to proactively contact the property owner to get my check in details on my day-of arrival as I hadn't received them yet, but they texted me straight away. Thanks!

Good location, reasonably priced NOLA apartment
Nice apartment. It is as described. One bedroom but kind of an open floor plan with no walls or doors between the rooms. It's in an older home that's has been renovated in New Orleans. Keep that in mind. it's a little drafty. everything creaks. The kitchen has a microwave and a toaster oven. there was also a hotplate.No oven or stove. Manager was very responsive. Usually emailed me back in short order. We had a small problem the first night. An alarm was going off somewhere. Manager came out and dealt with it. I like this location in NOLA. close to the quarter but not right in it. Priced appropriately/reasonably. I'd stay here again.
