Use worms or crickets as bait, ensuring the tip of the hook is not showing. Perch, bass, and bowfin prefer shiners (minnows) or crickets. Catfish and alligator gar are not picky eaters and will go for anything. Lake St. Joseph is home to a variety of fish species.
