Near the Beach on Balboa Island. Just 3 houses away from the Beach. Beautiful, spacious upstairs 1 bedroom with a King size bed, plus a day bed (twin size bed with a twin size trundle bed underneath) in the living room. Lovely kitchen with dishwasher, refrigerator, gas stove and microwave. Television in the living room and in the bedroom. Lots of closet space. Great working space, and excellent WiFi.

Great Cottage
Location was great and the cottage is well equipped. We really enjoy cooking so the kitchen was very well equipped. The outdoor deck was where we ate most our meals t9 enjoy the lovely weather. We would definitely stay here again! Pat was a great communicating with us and was an awesome host!

Excellent Get Away
The apartment is appointed very nicely with everything you would need and want. Pat, is extrememly responsive and only a phone call away. Any issue or concern is resolved immediately. The location is wonderful. Only steps away from the North Bayfront. The deck was a major plus with its solar umbrella and comfortable furniture. We totally enjoyed our time away here and so will you.

Quiet Lovely Retreat
The apartment was lovely with nice upgrades and all needed amenities. It has a nice private patio and is close to the water and Balboa walking path. Just a short walk to the ferry. The bed was super comfortable and we enjoyed every minute of our stay.

Lovely stay in Balboa Island
We loved our stay here, the accommodation was very comfortable and in a great location. Check in was easy and the host very communicative. Although our truck was too large to fit in the garage, we always found street parking nearby. Just a small thing to note, you are expected to wash and dry the towels before you leave which is a slight inconvenience as check out is 10 am. However, we would happily stay here again.

Location Location Location
This is a perfect location to explore Balboa & the surrounding area. Host is lovely & welcoming. Unit is clean, well stocked & the bed is very comfortable. Having the garage is a big plus (a large cars or truck wouldn't fit). We enjoyed walking the island in the am, walking to main st restaurants (10 min), taking the ferry (5 min walk). Quiet neighborhood. The unit is an upstairs back unit with 16 steps so not accessible for someone who is not mobile (we're 70 & had no problems but a wheelchair or inability to climb steps wouldn't work). We visit the area frequently & would definitely stay again.

Great location, very nice unit
This property is really nice. It's very close to the beach and just a 8-10 minute walk to downtown. It has a nice little sitting area deck where you can sit out or have meals. Guests should know that you're required to dump all garbage and wash & dry all towels before you leave. Not a huge deal, but a little more work than other rentals I've stayed at. The host is very responsive and will promptly fix anything you need fixing. I believe it's a new listing, and while there were some minor things that needed maintenance, the host assured me that they will be addressed before the next guest. I'm sure the property will be a "5" for the next guest, but my rating reflects how my daughter and I experienced it as we first arrived.

Retirement kick-off!
Our stay started the day my fiancé retired! The property, including the rooftop deck, was spacious, clean, and very well appointed. Besides rooftop relaxing, we also enjoyed our Bayfront walks, biking via ferry along the peninsula, beach sitting, Marine Ave, and local restaurants featuring live music... Highly recommend!

Great vacation house
The house was very comfortable, especially the large king bed. It was nice to have the option for A/C which isn’t always available. The kitchen is well stocked and we appreciated having beach chairs and towels to use. Access to the garage was also a huge plus with limited island parking. The host was very attentive and friendly!

This was my second stay - unit is very spacious with a nice outdoor deck area and is very clean and well equipped. Unlike a lot of units in this area this property has a full size washer dryer, garage parking and AC.

Very clean, private and relaxing
Loved the proximity to the back bay. The patio was great too. Special touches like the BBQ, and sturdy and comfortable couches and bedding were a plus.Garage parking was terrific too! Clean 2nd story Balboa Island condo
This was a nice clean 2nd story back condo. There is garage parking if you have a smaller car or SUV. We were there on a busy holiday weekend and there was street parking near the front over the weekend. The owner had excellent communication and actually texted and called us. That made it very easy to get questions answered. The above ground patio give a neat perspective and you can see around better. Place is clean and nice and was close the bay beach if you want to play in the canal sand. We hung out there and the kids had fun. The owner was very accommodating for our situation last minute. Thank you!

Great spot on Balboa
Absolutely fabulous location with lots of extra perks. Ruby Street beach (main swimming beach on Balboa) is just a block away and we spent many hours there with our kids. The kitchen is extremely well equipped- eveyrthing we needed was there. In addition to the regular coffee maker, there was also a Keurig, which was a real plus. Lots of great pots/pans, cleaning supplies, dishwasher tabs and all new appliances. The AC in the unit was a real treat as well. The garage is fantastic and so convenient. Street parking is also not bad if you have a second vehicle or if your car is too large for the garage. (Note- the garage, while spacious for Balboa, might be challenging if you have a large vehicle. Our Toyota Camry barely fit in the length. ) The ferry is just a few blocks down the road and my kids loved going down there and catching it to the Fun Zone. The apartment is compact but very thoughtfully laid out and lots of closet and storage space. The new washer and dryer were also fantastic. The owner has thoughtful included beach towels and chairs so one less thing to pack. We definitely want to come back!

Overall the apartment was great! Clean & modern. A few items were missing from the kitchen (can opener, colander, measuring spoons & a clothes iron to name a few) but we managed. The outdoor space was wonderful! Wish we could've checked in a little earlier.

Exceeded Expectations- Perfect Balboa Island Retreat

Modern and Great Location
This place has modern upgrades and is very light and bright with many amenities, including super comfortable bed. It’s just a 2 minute walk to a great coffee shop and a delightful, modern restaurant for lunch and dinner. There’s many other places to eat and shop that are just a 5 minute walk along the island’s boardwalk. Having a garage for parking was a bonus. The owner is readily available for anything you’d need. I would definitely return to this VRBO.
