Waterside boasts 4 self catering cottages in total. Located within 10 minutes of the famous Galloway Forest Park. It is a secluded rural haven set in 18 acres of grounds with the river Bladnoch running along the perimeter providing fantastic fishing opportunities. Nature and wildlife are truly on your doorstep. But despite being “in the middle of nowhere” Newton Stewart and all its amenities are located just 9 miles away.

Hunters - Although we don't permit hunting on the grounds a number of syndicates operate in the area within a short distance and often base themselves from Waterside.
Anglers - The river Bladnoch which runs along the perimeter of the property provides excellent fishing for both migratory and non-migratory species. This is available onsite free of charge with the owners prior consent.
Astronomy/Astrophotography -The nearby Galloway Forest has since 2009 been designated a gold tier dark sky park due to its breath taking and rare stargazing conditions. Those conditions are almost replicated at Waterside with bortle 2 skies, this provides incredible dark skies for astronomy and astrophotography enthusiasts.
Walkers/Mountain Bikers – Dumfries and Galloway is famed for its mountain bike routes including the most spectacular rides of the 7 Stanes, Glentrool is either 20 minutes by car or a little warm up bike ride, through the forest and heath lands past Ochiltree loch. The Kirroughtree trails are also within reach via a 30 minute drive. The Southern Upland Way route goes right past Waterside. A suitable stop off for both ambitious walkers transiting the route in its entirety and shorter more exploratory walkers looking to visit Laggangarn and the Wells of Rees or in the opposite direction to Bargrennan.
Golfers – Dumfries and Galloway boasts over 30 golf courses and the tourist board offers a “Gateway to golf pass” for 3, or 6 rounds on any of the 26 participating courses. The nearest being a 10 minute drive away in Newton Stewart, a 18 hole 5,806 yard course (par69) which has spectacular views from each hole. Waterside’s location offers the golf enthusiast a great rural escape with great golf just a short journey in multiple directions.
Families/Couple's - If you just want to get away from the chaos of everyday then Waterside is ideal. If you have planned adventures or just want to relax and unwind onsite with nature on your doorstep.
