Brookside Retreat - G100 at North Coast Village

Surround yourself with luxury and relaxation! This corner beach condo is located along a bubbling stream amid lush tropical foliage. It is a 2 bedroom, 2 bath, single story condo. The charming ocean-inspired interior features a gorgeous wood-look tile fireplace, 1 love seat and a sectional with a queen sofa sleeper (updated 2024), . Slab granite counters and a subway tile backsplash enhance the gourmet kitchen, which is equipped with dishes, pots and pans, and serving pieces. The primary retreat has a new tiled tub/shower combo (updated 2024) and the second bedroom offers a tiled walk-in shower (updated 2024).

Make My Vacation also provides all linens and towels, beach chairs and beach towels. The Living Room TV is provided for your entertainment, as well as free wireless Internet.

North Coast Village offers billiards, ping pong, a new fitness center with sauna, and a barbecue area overlooking the pool for parties. It is located between the Oceanside Harbor and the Oceanside Pier, and is a favorite destination for people around the world. The complex consists of nine three-story buildings surrounded by 2-story cottages, on several acres of beautifully landscaped grounds. You are just steps from the sand; there are no roads to cross-this is an OCEANFRONT COMPLEX! Swim in the lagoon-style heated pool (one of two pools and spas), or enjoy a romantic walk on one of the most beautiful stretches of beach in Southern California. The property was clean and well supplied. The grounds themselves are being updated and painted currently which did not deter from our beach fun. I would happily stay here again

Our condo was nice, kind of in between new and old. The re-done bathrooms were especially nice, I loved that the bathtub and shower were actually tiled and not that crappy fiberglass too-slippery kind. And the ceiling fans were awesome, good quality, not squeaky and looking like they'd come out of the ceiling any minute. But the dresser in the master bedroom smelled so old and musty I did not put my clothes in it. The kitchen was old, besides the new sink and countertop, and the beds were a bit saggy. The complex was nice, although the vending machines were frustrating. Overall it was a great place to stay.

The property is in a great spot but we didn't care for the management. Security did all the work while management never answered the phone. Our room was filthy when we got there. I don't think they've mopped since the 90s. Says it is renovated, unless they are talking renovated in the 90s, that statement is misleading. Checking in was really hard and they don't seem to care that their check in parking lot is always full with non guests.

We love staying at North Coast Village and have been many times. G-100 was sparkling clean and nicely renovated. Our family of five were very comfortable during our stay and I would highly recommend a stay here.

We enjoyed our stay in Oceanside. It seemed pretty mellow at the complex. Pool was warm, hot tub nice. The unit itself could use some updating as others have mentioned. Parking is convenient with a dedicated spot. We loved feeding the koi.

Fun Destination
This condo was nice, great location close to the harbor and the beach and a short walk to the pier. Everything was clean and comfortable. There is a wagon, a boogie board, a small pop up shade, and some sand toys as well as beach chairs to take down to the beach. Everything went well and we would definitely book again. Very family friendly. They did not have a can opener though, that I could find. Also the largest pan was a little small if you have a large group to cook for, but we made it work!

This unit was just ok. It could use a little updating. Especially in the kitchen. It didn't have everything that we needed. I had to borrow items for another unit and the dishwasher was terrible! It doesn't even clean the dishes. The coffee pot was filthy and broken. That being said, when we contacted the rental office they apologized and tried to bring a new coffee pot the first morning. The couch bed sheets were stained. But other than that it was fine and meet or needs.

A few issues: 1)TV box taped to TV, with tape residue on screen. 2)fireplace didn't work. 3)tiles missing on shower shelf, with mold in corners. 4) security issue with ground level window NOT lockable! 5) no coffee filters or coffee. 6) no shampoo or conditioner. 7) bathtub non functional (needs a drain plug).

We enjoyed most of everything. The beds were comfortable. It was well stocked with what we needed. We loved the amenities, but we did have to wash the dishes before we could use them. There was stuck on hard cheese in the grater and a greasy film over the dishes. We washed them and enjoyed the rest of the trip.

Overall good stay
Overall our stay was positive but some areas of improvement: THE GOOD - unit exactly as pictured & good size, gated community, lovely & well kept grounds, parking garage was clean & safe, laundry room nicest I’ve seen, beach is great with awesome views, close proximity to many things THE BAD: unit is in bad need of maintena..livingroom furniture were filthy and need cleaning or to be replaced. Pads on deck chairs are badly stained/dirty. Areas that need to be painted in master bath, closet where it’s been patched or chipped. Stove needs replacement..is rusty on front, and some bedroom nightstands are worn. The master bathtub has to be re-enameled or replaced because it has very visible deterioration of its coating. Shower door handle in 2nd bedroom is crooked and shower ledge near window in master is badly chipped and rotting. The worse was ants..and let me say I understand that ants can be a problem when you are on the beach but not in the shower. The shower faucets did not cover the openings (another bad look) and we had ants just streaming out of those openings by the dozens. I spent one day just drowning them with shower wand so family wouldn’t freak out. Vents in the bathroom ceilings were yellowed and need to be washed. Dining room table and master bath overhead light didn’t work nor did a couple of the heaters (which we needed because we had a very cold snap). All things said, our stay was good and I would stay at this location again but not this unit.

Nice place to stay
The property is in a beautiful location. The grounds are lovely, but pretty confusing. We arrived at 9pm to check in and were handed a map and a general "go that way to park". No real information as to how to reach our rented condo after parking. We wandered around in the Jungle(grounds) for at least 20 minutes before we were finally able to find the condo. It is clean and looks exactly like the posting. You do have to leave the grounds to get to the beach, but it's a very short distance. Loved the master bedroom bed! The pillows leave something to be desired though...especially in the 2nd bedroom (this is a personal preference). Overall we really enjoyed our stay here. The host provided an umbrella for us upon our request, which was very appreciated. We were also allowed a slightly later check out since we had a later flight.

North Coast Village is a great place
Great condo, location, and overall rental experience. The amenities of the pool, hot tub area, gardens, beach access, etc are all great and ideal. Spacious unit and great location. Would definitely stay again. The only negative is there is an ant problem. It is right on the beach, and understandable for a beach location in SoCal, but the ants are definitely a problem. Too many other important great marks are met though to let ants be much of an issue for me.

Love North Coast Village
Our family loves North Coast Village. We have very young children so being close to the beach and having a swimming pool makes North Coast Village a wonderful vacation spot. The unit itself was good. We were a little disappointed about how the unit was cleaned prior to our arrival (the floor was very dirty as well as the freezer and utensils in the kitchen) but we contacted management and they said that they could get that taken care of. We ended up cleaning up most stuff on our own because we had children who were napping and couldn't leave the condo. But we were grateful for the response and willingness to resolve the issue provided by the management. The beds were comfortable, the couches not so much but we didn't mind because we didn't need to use those for sleeping. Being on the first floor made it nice for packing and unpacking our things. You are very close to the stairs. We didn't need to use the beach "toys" because we brought our own so I can't really review their quality. Overall, after the cleaning issue, we had a wonderful stay.
