„The host was amazing. He contacted us to see what time to expect us. Whenever we walked up he was at the door to welcome us and show us around. We loved everything about our stay. Now understand that this is a traditional Japanese home. My family enjoyed the experience. We were a nice 15 minute walk to the bamboo Forest, a short walk to several dining options, cafe for coffee and a Lawson for convenience. „Lovely hostel with very kind staff. Everything was very clean and there were a lot of thoughtful touches. It is right on a road so earplugs were helpful to drown out road noise at night. Lots of great food options during the day but things close early so fewer dinner options. Would definitely stay again. “

„The room was within walking distance from the bamboo forest and local restaurants. It was hard to find dining at night because some restaurants close early and you have to cross bridge to search for other restaurants. Too many gnats flying around. Gnats were also in the rooms. The staff were really nice and very helpful and patient.“

„Absolutely amazing stay! Everything was taken care of to very small details. Staff was attentive and friendly, and the food was great! Within walking distance from Arashiyaman Bamboo Grove. Would recommend to people who want to try a ryokan and onsen for the first time.“

„The hotel is located at the edge of Arashiyama park, so super convenient and walkable to the river band, the park observation point, the Seiryiji temple and bamboo forest, as well as the down town shopping/dinning area, yet, it is also sitting at a pretty quiet location. You can also walk cross the Togetsukyō bridge to the other side for the Monkey park, etc. The hotel room is very spacious, also offer hot spring pools for both female and male. The taxi ride from train station is not bad ...

„The location is great- steps from the train station. Not a lot nearby in terms of food and most things close early when the tourists leave for the day. Which means it’s pretty quiet at night. Rooms are good size, not cramped like most of Japan. Windows barely open and the AC was not working well when we were there. “

„Am Anfang etwas ängstlich, was uns in einem Erwachsenenhotel erwartet, würden wir jetzt jederzeit wieder kommen. Der Hotelbesitzer ist sehr nett, die Zimmer sind für japanische Verhältnisse sehr groß, die Lage ist (wenn auch etwas außerhalb) sehr idylisch am Fluß, viele Einkaufsmöglichkeiten in der Nähe und wenn es mal weiter weg gehen soll, stehen kostenlos Fahrräder zur Verfügung (die gut in Schuss sind). Zudem sind die Zimmer sehr ruhig und die Check-in Zeiten sind flexibel. So durften wir ...

„行くまでの道が狭く、子どもを連れて歩くのには危険でした。お風呂に入った際に、建てつけの問題か扉を閉めていても外に水が漏れてきたのが残念でした。そのため足ふきマットが濡れてしまいましたが、替えがなく困りました。部屋全体は綺麗に掃除がされていて、洗濯機の洗剤が置かれていたり、しっかりとした冷蔵庫があったり助かりました。“

"Uns hat es sehr gut gefallen. Die Zimmer sind sehr geschmackvoll und durchdacht. Zum Bahnhof ist es nah. Allerdings fahren nach Gion und in diese Richtung nur Busse, die sehr voll sind. Das Frühstück sehr vielseitig. Für jeden findet sich etwas."

"The Hotel lies in a residental Area. But every 20 Minutes is a shuttle bus between a central underground Station an the hotel. Bus stops (local City bus) for Ginkakuchi and Kinkakuchi Temple are a short walk away. The Staff in the hotel is very polite and the front desk staff speaks really good englisch. The hotel rooms are spacious and give you a touch of luxury. Every day you can decide how you would like to have your room cleansed. In this Hotel you can feel and see the japanese art of Omotenashi (highest art of hospitality)."
