The cottage is rustic, and quirky, with all the basics of home. No A/c, but it was the last week of August and we did not miss it. Located at the end of a gravel dirt road, and right on Rockland Harbor, if you are looking for peace and quiet, and a million dollar view, this is the place! The owner, Christine, was as helpful as could be, and we really just loved the entire experience. Our first visit to Maine, we drove up from our home in the Shenandoah Valley. Tho the cottage is "away from it all" it was only a few miles from the town of Rockland, where we could pick up everything and anything we needed. I think we spent 90 % of our time on the beautiful screened in porch overlooking the harbor. If you must go out and about there are many interesting places close by, including The Transportation Museum, the Marshall Point lighthouse, the Farnsworth Museum (Wyeth) and many, many interesting shops. Don't miss the 7 Napkin Burger at the Owls Head general store, and breakfast or lunch at Keags store just down the road on 73. We HIGHLY recommend this property. We will probably go back again, perhaps in the Fall next time, just to experience a different season in Maine.
