Welcome to The Foxhole Retreat, a cozy & whimsical place to unwind after a day of adventure in Hatcher Pass & Palmer. Tucked into a quiet neighborhood minutes from Hatcher Pass, this walkout basement apartment will be the perfect home base for exploring.
Outside you'll find a private patio where you can curl into the nest chair or dine outside on nice days. Inside you'll find a one bedroom suite with a full kitchen that is furnished stylishly with art and goods made by local artists & artisans.
From the parking lot, you'll follow a few steps down to the sunken patio where you will find the entrance to your suite. On the left you'll see a small outdoor dining table, and to the right you'll find an oversized nest chair beside the entrance to the suite. In the summer you're welcome to help yourself to any herbs or veggies you find growing there.
Once inside, you'll find an entrance nook to your right with plenty of room to store your jackets, shoes, and outdoor gear. You'll enter into the living room with a 55" smart TV and a cupboard of board games. Don't forget to sign the guestbook that you find on the dining room table. Around the corner, you'll find local Alaskan themed books, and a few instruments to play: a guitar, ukulele, and a mandolin.
The Foxhole Retreat features a full kitchen if you like to cook your meals in. You'll find everything you need to cook a meal. There is no dishwasher, but you will find an oversized dish rack to make dishwashing easy. There is also a coffee station that includes a locally roasted coffee sample from Farm Loop coffee and Felicity Loft tea. You'll have a ninja drip coffee maker and also a pour over coffee maker. Drink your coffee using the peek-a-boo fox mugs.
The bedroom is furnished with a king sized bed and cotton sheets. You'll also find some additional books, a chair to read, a northern lights projector, and an essential oils diffuser.
In the bathroom you'll find a combo shower and tub supplied with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, and locally made Alaskan lotion. The apartment does not have a washer and dryer, but is only minutes from Turner's Corner where you will find a laundry mat. Don't forget to get "The World's Best Ice Cream" while you wait for your clothes to dry.
The Foxhole Retreat is located in a walkout basement apartment at the back of a larger house. You'll have a private parking space at the end of the driveway, a private patio, and a separate entrance to your retreat.
You won't have access to the deck above your patio, the area in the front of the house, or the main house itself.
You may occasionally see someone in the yard, or other areas of the property.
The Foxhole Retreat is in a rural subdivision near the base of Hatcher Pass. You'll find winding streets, modest homes, and lots are one to five acres in size, so there is plenty of space and privacy but you also might see the neighbors out in their yard. There is a local gas station/ice cream stop, a little bar, and also a pizza place within a mile or so, but otherwise most services will be in Palmer or Wasilla. Palmer has great breweries, restaurants, coffee shops, and boutiques. We are very close to all the recreational activities in Hatcher Pass.

A car is required to get around, and AWD is handy in the winter. You'll have a driveway with a couple parking spots available to you.
The Foxhole Retreat is located in a walkout basement apartment at the back of a larger house. The space is very relaxing and relatively quiet, but there are some noises you may hear during your stay. These may include my the homeowner living upstairs.
The house is on a well and septic tank, so please don't flush anything but toilet paper down the toilets
For the protection and safety of the home owners & guests, this home is equipped with outdoor security cameras that take active video and audio recordings on the in the driveway and exterior of the house.
