Got there on Monday. There was construction going on at the property that I was not aware of. It was very noisy. Went in the room, turned the heat on because it was cold. The fire alarm started going off. There was gnats in the kitchen. The room had a bad smell. On one bed the box spring smaller was smaller than the mattress. The closet was full of junk. Very disappointed. Spoke with the lady at the front desk. Decided to stay somewhere else.

Not bad for the price
This condo is outdated but it wasn't too bad for the price that we paid. There are not many restaurants around (within walking distance). It was nice that it is on the beach and the check in and out process was very smooth!

Would not recommend
I don’t even know where to to begin. Black mold/mildew all over the shower. Shower curtain rod fell down during our first shower and would not go back up. We were given 1/2 roll of toilet paper and didn’t realize there was not additional rolls until it was too late. Filthy floors under beds and appliances. Beds were rock hard. I would wake up with my arms asleep in the night and sore back in the morning. The pillows were pancakes, and there were no blankets on the bed or in the room, only two top sheets. The furnishings are completely different than the photos. One of the benches was missing to the patio table. We have stayed at Top of the Gulf previously and had a wonderful experience. This room was run down and in need of repair and a deep cleaning. Very disappointed, especially for the price.

Was not clean, there was a safety and cleaning issues. We ended up leaving after being on the phone with VRBO & VACASA for over a hour and 45 minutes. Wouldn’t recommend.

The unit is grossly covered with mold behind the sofa the size of the sofa,as well as, in bathroom. The whole unit had a moldy odor which is a severe health hazard. The whole unit need maintenance and upgrading.

Room was gross!
The building was nice but the room we staying in was run down and gross. The room was dirty. One of the beds had a full size box spring with a queen size mattress. The bathroom had black spots on the ceiling that appeared to be mold. The water only stayed warm for about 10 minutes. The room was overall run down and dirty! It was on the first floor but not a beachfront. I will not be staying in this room again.

The room was convenient and overall clean. The beds stiff and didn’t have a mattress cover. Also needs some updates, and I think there’s mold by the ceiling fan. We also found sugar ants on the bedside table . Bathroom toilet and sink were clean, but something’s wrong with the door. Would I stay again? Probably lol, you get what you pay for. All the staff members were amazing! The room also has some chairs and things inside the closet which is great because chair rentals are $40. Overall I think it was a great experience and I’d come again

This unit wreaked of mold, walls and doors were dirty, bathroom door is covered in mold. The edge of stove top was filled with food particles, walls have many blemishes. The ceiling fan has wires hanging from it. This unit needs completely renovated.as you walk in unit, a closet area with no do is open with no door and not pleasing to the eye.

Terrible
I thought I would give this place a try but it was awful , it has nasty musty smell in the entire place. The beds are one leg from breaking off. You sit on it and just squeaks and you won’t even be moving. Goodness forbid you want privacy shades won’t even hardly close. The bathroom is a closet literally. There’s tape covering the shower. It’s not well kept and honestly you should go elsewhere do NOT stay in room 112. Most horrible place I’ve ever stayed. The men at the guard shack act like it’s a prison. When it’s supposed to be a vacation. Highly do no recommend.

Should have read all of the previous reviews.
As we were walking into the room, a cockroach ran out. Right inside in front of the entry door there was a huge puddle of water which we found out later was the AC leaking. The floor was not clean at all, the room was very outdated, the shower was held together in a large place with blue tape, and the shower curtain was molded. The ceiling fan did not work and the entire room smelled musty. Definitely do not recommend!

Would choose a different condo
I have read previous reviews back to April 2021. The owner of the condo hasn't made any repairs. There was a new stove and refrigerator. However, the bathroom door was broken the doorknob falling out and it wouldn't shut. There were tiles missing at the front of the shower. The faucet didn't work properly. Overall the bathroom left alot to desired, just dingy dirty looking. The kitchen faucet was not anchored down correctly, would wiggle around when you tried to use it. There was a ceiling fan that had an extension cord going across the ceiling to it. (We didn't even try to turn it on. The curtains at the sliding glass door did not close all the way, we had to safety pin them shut and there was no screen on the door. There were 7 cats that I counted walking around the parking lot and on your patio. I did call for maintanence and there were very quick to respond. I wanted them to be aware of the things that were wrong with the condo so that we would not be blamed for the damage. The pool area and access to the beach was good. Just not like the picture depicts. This was a first time in getting a condo and I would be reluctant to do so again. The young man that was the security guard was very nice and helpful with directions and such. I did receive a $50 refund and appreciated that.

The place was plenty room for us. And it was clean for the most part. The floors were extremely dirty though. Had to wear shoes the entire time. My mom had on socks and another was barefoot. The socks and bare feet were nasty from walking on the floor. Someone previously had spilled something that had splashed under the edge of one of the beds, that had not been cleaned up. There were missing tile in the bathroom. And the bathroom door was broken at the hinges. Making the door unable to close. Unless you maneuvered it to get it to close. Then when you tried to open it, it sounded like you were breaking the whole door down. So when others were sleeping you couldn't close the bathroom door. You get what you pay for I guess. But I was disappointed. There also appeared to be black mold on the ceiling of the closet area that held the extra pillows and other things. The bathroom and kitchen area definitely need some repairs.

This room is in NEED of updating and remodeling. When we walked in it smelled of mildew. You can visibly see the mold on the ceilings throughout the room. There is broken tile in the bathroom that could cut you if you are not careful. I liked The Top of the Gulf place and would stay there but NOT in this room.

Pros of this property: -Staff on site -Vending machine -Location on beach -Water pressure in the shower is good -we left cookie sheets, muffin pans, a spatula, and oven mit so you can actually use the kitchen. -fridge is apartment size. Big enough for a weeks worth of food. Cons of this property: -If you stay longer than 3 days, the overwhelming smell of bleach is replaced with the overwhelming smell of mold. -Broken tiles in the bathroom. -The bathroom door does not close because it is hanging off the hinges and the doorknob has been pressed into the particleboard door that has absorbed so much moisture from a non ventilated bathroom -mold is everywhere in the bathroom, 'walk on closet' and main living space. So, if you are like us and are allergic, you will spend your vacation sick and miserable. -the bathroom sink chooses when it wants to work and when it doesn't. -when the bathroom sink does work, it shoots water everywhere, including into the power outlet that is right next to the sink. -according to the property manager, you only get a starter pack of toilet paper, so if you are having a girls trip, being your own or you will be in trouble. -there is no bathroom trash can. Makes for an awkward girl time of the month exchange. -the pictures taken for the site are not what it appears to bed. There are now black curtains that do not close all the way and have to be held together with a clothes pin so people in the parking lot can't see in. -we get that there is not 'maid' service, however it is upsetting when you only get one set of towels and one of them had a big red stain on it. -the sheets felt like sand paper before we even went out to the sand. Super rough. -there is a fan hanging in the middle of the room that does not work. -if you do stay here, plan your trip around the perfect weather. Because if you have a trip like ours, we had a freeze warning and hot and humid days all within our stay. Good luck because the heat and AC do not work. So it will get down to 62 degree and up to 73 with out any control of your own. And remember, you can't use the fan. It just hums. -being your own cooking utensils and pots and pans if you stay here. The biggest pan to cook in was 6 inches.
