Give yourselves a getaway to the historic ‘Brucedale’ property, a picturesque 15-minute drive north of Bathurst where ‘Brucedale Cottage’ is your escape from the city, in the Village of Peel. Just far enough out of town to feel secluded, but close enough to duck in for groceries or a meal. Some old brick farm buildings and gardens that reminded us of Southern France. A warm fireplace, thoughtful provisions in the kitchen - these little touches give a homely vibe to the accommodation. Gorgeous night sky stars thanks to zero light pollution Our only regret was being preoccupied with sporting events in town, as that gave us only a a few hours in the morning and afternoon to savour the location.

Beautiful property
I stayed at the property with my elderly father for 2 nights. We had a tremendous stay in the cottage which was maintained beautifully and was exactly how it was described. We loved the beautiful outlook over the farm and enjoyed saying hello to Doug and Rosie (little dogs) in the evenings. We met David on our last day and had a great conversation with him. I really hope that I can visit again one day soon.

It is a lovely property with plenty of heritage and fantastic scenery. The little 'add-ons' (such as a nice bottle of bubbles and having the fire lit for arrival) were well appreciated. The furnishings are very comfortable, the beds are warm. The host David took time out from his farm work to answer any questions and give us some local site-seeing tips. We enjoyed every moment and given the opportunity, will go back again.

A wonderful place to stay
I cant praise Brucedale enough. It is a magic place. Peaceful with wonderful views in all directions. David and Rebecca generously allow you wander in the paddocks. A beautifully maintained property with accomodation of the highest standard. It is such a credit to Rebecca and David. A great sense of history in a property cared for by one family for many generations.

Amazing home and location
We absolutely adored this property! While the house was immaculate, beautiful, cosy, comfortable and well equipped, and our hosts Rebecca and David friendly and warm, nothing could beat the location. The views across the Peel countryside are magnificent, and the grounds of this historic home are stunning – graceful gum trees and a beautifully kept garden blooming for spring. We saw birds galore – it was very easy to spend hours on the porch watching them, and that view – and also loved getting an insight into a working farm. Oh, and did I mention seeing a multitude of stars at night? And also glorious sunrises and sunsets each day? We definitely found it very hard to leave this very special location – and already want to go back! Thank you, Rebecca and David, for sharing this exceptional place with us.

From the second we arrived, Rebecca and Dave were the perfect hosts. They allowed us to relax and enjoy our stay whilst also providing some really good local insights as to the best places to visit in town. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely be back in the future. Brucedale Cottage = Australian Gem!!
Wow! Staying at Brucedale made us really appreciate the wonderful Australian land that was blessed upon us to develop, provide to many from farming and share it's roof to us and other lucky visitors . I am grateful to David and Rebecca who have continued over many generations to preserve and better this wonderful homestead and willingly share their beautiful property to enjoy. The history of the property is impressive and the early years of George Suttor humbling. Its a great place to sit and see the peace in front of you and reflect on the property with nature in abundance to enjoy. The cottage comforts are 5 star and surrounds magical. On a day of 36c in the sun the verandah in the shade with a blessed cool breeze from the trees was natures air conditing. Superb! I am better person from soaking in the wonderful experince. This is a true Australian holiday. Happy times ahead to you both David and Rebecca and celebrate Australia Day hard and with pride! We will return.

Rural Get Away
Set within the grounds of an historic homestead and working farm, with abundant birdlife and magnificent rural views from all windows, Brucedale Cottage is a hidden gem. It is delightfully peaceful and tranquil and located far enough away from busy Bathurst yet close enough for brunch or an evening meal out. The accommodation is extremely comfortable and immaculately presented and the owners are friendly and welcoming, yet not at all intrusive. All round, we had a most enjoyable and relaxing stay.

Absolutely loved it!
Where to begin! The Brucedale property is absolutely stunning. When we arrived we were greeted by the 2 most loveable doggies, and the sounds of the farm. The accomodation is absolutely beautiful, all the little touches from the bedding, the styling of the sitting room, to the gorgeous outdoor areas make you never want to leave. Rebecca and David are absolutely lovely and so accomodating. We will definitely be back! 11 out of 10 experience. xx
