Faraway Lodge is the perfect place for multi-generational family gatherings. On the main floor, there are 3 roomy bedrooms/2 bathrooms, 2 large living rooms, a new kitchen, and walk out to wrap-around decks. There are two driveways with lots of parking, and the upper one does not require stairs to get into the house.
You’ll love the views while you are grilling on the large propane grill, relaxing in the hammock, or enjoying your morning coffee with the sunrise.
This cabin is a dream!
This 2900 sf log cabin is situated in the back of a 2-acre wooded lot adjacent to Tonto National Forest. You'll feel like you are in the woods, but Pine restaurants and shops are only 1.5 miles away. It's quiet and secluded and has views for miles.
has 4 bedrooms, 3 of them with king beds, one with two doubles, 2 full bathrooms and 2 with a walk-in shower. There are two lofts with beds, as well.
The front living room has a chalet window looking out at forest and mountain views, with access to the deck. A pellet stove keeps you warm in the winter with a cozy flame to add glow to the room.
The living room flows into a dining room with a table that seats 10, plus 3 barstools at the kitchen bar. The remodeled kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to prepare fabulous meals, including small appliances such as a crockpot, waffle maker (the flip kind you find in hotel breakfast rooms), a blender, coffeemaker, toaster, griddle, hand mixer, and more.
There is a spacious living room in the back of the main floor that also has a large chalet window looking out to Tonto National Forest with no houses or buildings in sight. This room has a large TV, games, and children's toys. Climb a ladder to the loft above with two twin beds on the floor. Kids love it!
The Primary bedroom is upstairs, and has a king bed, a lounge chair, and ensuite bathroom. There is a private covered deck attached with comfortable furniture, heaters, and even a twin bed with mosquito netting for a nice afternoon nap when the monsoons roll in. The loft has a very comfortable queen sofa bed and a chair/ottoman for relaxing with a book.
This is a special place to create memories and get the relaxation you crave.
You'll have access to all areas of the house and lot except the garage, which is locked.

The Faraway Lodge is in a beautiful walkable Pine neighborhood with paved roads just 1.6 miles from the nearest restaurant and grocery market. Even though it is in a neighborhood, the cabin is situated on the back of two acres, adjacent to Tonto National Forest. You'll feel like you have the forest to yourselves!
Step out the door, across the lot, and you are on a beautiful walking trail that connects with the Arizona Trail. You’ll likely see elk, deer, javalina, rabbits, and the occasional cow or two at the pond. A 15-minute walk the other direction will take you to a trail with the best views of the Pine valley.
The neighborhood has a mix of residents and other vacation home guests. It’s expected that you wave when you see neighbors while driving, it’s a friendly place. You’ll see elk wandering through the area, you can wave to them but don’t get close or try to feed them, even though they seem docile. Babies start to drop in June, so keep an eye out for the spotted cuties in the summer. You may hear them crying, they sound a bit like a falcon.
All of the streets you'll be driving on are paved, and snow plows clear the roads in the winter.
There are two long driveways to the house, with plenty of parking for cars and trailers. Let us know if you are pulling a trailer with toys, and we’ll give you some helpful suggestions for parking. Our camping trailer may be parked on the upper driveway, but you will still have plenty of parking.
There is a wood fire pit to use in the area to the side of the house. We don't usually provide wood, but if you see some stacked below the parking area, you can use it (we sometimes have it).
When Tonto National Forest is in Stage 1 or higher fire restrictions, you cannot have a fire outside of any kind. This includes smoking. You can receive a hefty fine from Gila County Sheriff's office. We'll let you know, plus there are lots of signs as you drive in. It is your responsibility to be informed about this. Stage I usually starts sometime in early June and lasts until it cools off or if we get significant rain.
I'm ok with vaping outside away from open windows, but no cigarettes. Check with me about cigars. During summer months I will say no to all smoking.
No loud parties or amplified music any time of day.
