We chose the listing, grateful to have it be pet-friendly, but ran into a few hiccups. Check-in was scheduled for 4pm, but we were unable to get in until 5:20pm because the cleaner, with her 3 dogs, was running late. We reached out to Alexander, who’s response seemed focused on our mention of the cleaner’s dogs rather than the delay. The trash and dishwasher were still full, with a used bar of soap in the shower. He sent a message overnight that a contractor would be coming at 10am to fix the dryer. Due to having plans in the morning and not wanting to leave our dogs alone with a stranger, we requested a change to the schedule. In the end, we altered our plans for the contractor who did not show until noon and not done until after 2pm, taking up valuable visiting time. We were notified the contractor needed to return to repair broken pipes, which interrupted our water service and delayed our evening reservations to ensure our dogs would not have visitors. The apartment is on a walkable street near a sanitation company whose trucks beep and pass by. If you have noise-sensitive pets like ours, just be aware. All reviews seem positive, so this seemed just a set of issues that could not be helped. We’re sure the house issues were stressful for Alexander, too. Our main issues were waiting to enter and the repair work, since we hoped to spend our time visiting. We did have a box of cookies waiting for us from the local Italian bakery, which was very thoughtful!
