Das Petite Cachette (Little Hideaway) ist ein charmantes Gästehaus mit 1 Schlafzimmer, das sich versteckt in einer authentischen roten Scheune befindet. Dieses 1200 m² große, frisch gestrichene, mit Teppichboden ausgelegte und komfortabel eingerichtete Gästehaus wurde kürzlich renoviert und verfügt im Erdgeschoss über ein Wohnzimmer mit einem Holzofen, eine voll ausgestattete Küche und ein Badezimmer mit einer Waschmaschine und einem Trockner. Im Obergeschoss finden Sie ein geräumiges Loft-Schlafzimmer mit einem romantischen Himmelbett und einem begehbaren Kleiderschrank. Draußen sind Sie von einer privaten gepflegten Weide (auf der Sie häufig Rehe sehen) und schönen alten Bäumen umgeben. Sitzen Sie draußen und entspannen Sie sich beim Grillen oder genießen Sie einfach die üppige Landschaft.
Diese besondere Unterkunft befindet sich auf der Olympischen Halbinsel, nur wenige Minuten von der Hood Canal Bridge und dem Shine Tidelands State Park in Port Ludlow entfernt. PL bietet gehobene Küche im Fireside Restaurant im Port Ludlow Inn, Golf, Wanderwege und einen Jachthafen. Wir befinden uns in zentraler Lage zu mehreren malerischen Städten nördlich und südlich von uns. Etwas südlich von Port Ludlow über die Hood Canal Bridge befindet sich die historische Stadt Port Gamble, die sich hervorragend zum Einkaufen, Theater, Essen, Antiquitäten und Kajakfahren eignet. Etwas weiter südlich liegt die charmante nordische Stadt Poulsbo. In der Front Street neben Liberty Bay gibt es mehrere großartige Geschäfte, darunter Antiquitäten, Kleidung, Wohnkultur, Souvenirs, Restaurants am Wasser und die fantastische Sluy's Bakery!

wonderful place to stay!
Perfect little getaway for my partner and I. Hosts thought of everything - they were sweet, responsive, and very generous with their provisions! The bunt cake that was left for us was delicious Plenty of wood available for the wood stove, so don’t worry about bringing your own. Same goes for coffee - multiple brewing methods and bean options available. The barnhouse is located on the owners property and connected to their workshop, but they were incredibly respectful of our privacy. Never saw or heard them once during our 4 night stay. The property was well-maintained and fun to explore - lots of plants and mushrooms to look at, and a very cute Chronicles-of-Narnia-esque lamp and bench. Inside the barn there is not much natural light but plenty of lamps to compensate. Overall super cozy and a wonderful place to stay!

One of the best!
Leslie and Don were fabulous hosts. The barn apartment is spacious and comfortable, and is appointed with high quality furnishings and decor. Leslie provided so many special treats and touches we get like we were really being pampered. Normally we eat out when traveling, but the barn was so homey and the kitchen was well stocked with all the cookware, utensils, supplies, and seasonings needed to cook a full meal, and so we visited the QFC in Port Hadlock-Irondale for ingredients and cooked a delicious meal at "home". There was a huge windstorm our first evening there, with trees downed everywhere, but the barn was quite cozy throughout. The power went out about 9 pm due to the storm, and Don and Leslie came right down with a some battery powered lanterns for us. They offered to start the generator, but as it was fairly late we declined, and turned in for the evening. The power was restored during the night. A couple of things to be aware of: since the apartment is actually part of a barn there aren't very many windows. This wasn't a problem for the couple of nights we were there (and did actually add to the coziness during the windstorm), but we did miss being able to sit and look out a window at the lovely surroundings. Also, while there are plenty of lovely trails and beaches nearby for walking, you need to drive to them -- there are no walking opportunities right out the front door. We stayed at the barn 3 days while exploring the Olympic peninsula. We love the rural isolation. The barn perfectly stocked and we took advantage of the outdoor gas grill and played horse shoes!

We absolutely loved our stay! It was cozy, warm, peaceful and quiet, secluded from the city. We were amazed at all the wonderful details and personal touches! The surprises were in every room... beautiful bouquet of flowers, wine, pumpkin cake, chocolate, frig of goodies, foot baths for 2... the list goes on! Guests are spoiled here! This cozy "barndominium" didn't disappoint. Nestled away down a private drive alongside the white post fence, this peaceful retreat was everything we could have asked for and more. We were greeted with fresh baked goods and a few other surprises. The cottage decor was charming and relaxing. It was stocked with everything we needed. We spent nights by the fire pit and days visiting local lake and water for some paddleboarding and got in a few local hikes as well. Morning coffees were shared with a doe and her fawn, but always followed up by a buck. If that's not a great way to start a day, I'm not sure what is. Leslie was a perfect host and great source for local "to-do's". And a big thank you to the "local handyman", you know who you are. We would definitely stay her again and recommend it to our friends who want to get away for a relaxing recharge.

Cozy stay
This was the best-stocked short-term rental we've experienced. Which was great because we were under the weather and mostly felt like lazing about. Bonus points for a comfy couch and bed. The only downside is a lack of windows and natural light. Quiet, peaceful location a short drive from the Kingston ferry terminal.

This is a beautiful, peaceful and impeccably clean place to stay and a great base from which to explore the Olympic Peninsula! Leslie and Don take so much care to make sure guests feel welcome, and communication about everything from how to get there to where to find extra firewood was excellent. The kitchen is well-stocked and great for anyone who likes to cook. Highly recommended!

Peaceful getaway!
Beautiful setting and a good location for exploring the area. Extra touches with decorations and food make this an unsurpassed VRBO stay. Definitely the best stocked kitchen we have had access to. The hosts even provided a travel toothbrush/paste which was appreciated as I forgot my own. Comfortable bed and not asking for too much extra work/tasks before we left (as with some rentals). Easy process for check-in and check-out. Overall, a very pleasant retreat as a couple. We will recommend this to our friends.
