The Neighbourhood
The Portarlington Beach house is in a fantastic location - 10mins walk to town and the beach in one direction, and 10min walk in the other direction to the Portarlington Golf Club. It’s also only a 10min drive to gorgeous vineyards including Jack Rabbit, Terindah Estate, Bennett’s on Bellarine, and Bellarine Estate.
Portarlington itself has beautiful sheltered north facing bay beaches, and is perfect for safe swimming, snorkelling and fishing. There are great cycling and walking tracks around the beach-front, and through the local rail trail. There’s a beautiful main pier in town, and the area is well known for fresh mussels and seafood. There are cafes and restaurants locally, as well as supermarkets, bakery and the Grand Hotel.
Getting Around
If driving, there’s space to park multiple cars (and a boat). The house is fully fenced, and we have two bikes which you’re welcome to use!
An excellent boat service (1hr 10mins travel time) goes multiple times a day to and from Melbourne (departing Docklands behind Southern Cross Station/Marvel Stadium) to the Portarlington Pier (www.portphillipferries.com.au/).
Alternatively from Melbourne take the V Line train to Geelong, and jump on a bus that drops you at the end of our street!
