Amazing experience all around!
We were a group of 10 women yogis in our 50s and 60s. The two villas that we used were spectacular; the views, the pool, the sweet fresh flowers in the rooms everything was top-notch. We will definitely come back. Rene the groundskeeper was so helpful & kind. Marisol, our chef, was stocked our fridge, prepared our healthy meals with love and deliciousness❤️

Incredible in every way
This property is a dream! The location, the views, the staff ...all create an unforgettable destination. Carlos is very responsive and dedicated to creating a perfect vacation for you. Marisol's cooking was delicious and the house and pool was always maintained and spotless. Hike down the steep trail to Punta Monterrey beach ( takes 20 mins) ..its worth the climb back up!!

Amazing place with a perfect view
This house was a perfect place for our stay. The area is a secluded villa just north of San Pancho. The villa felt safe and secure the whole event. The rooms were spacious and fit everyone's needs well. The pool and lawn was perfect. Between just a nice area to relax and socialize, and the amazing sunsets we spent a lot of time around the pool. At night, the bats zipped around over the pool. The housekeepers and groundskeeper kept the property in great condition our entire stay. We did not have any major issues the whole time we were there. San Pancho just south of the villa is a great town with a fun vibe and great restaurants. It was only like a 15 minute drive. We frequented the town to have cocktails and food just about every day. All in all I would recommend this place to anyone that wants to vacation in the puerto vallarta area, but not the hustle and bustle of renting a place in town. This place felt like our own little paradise.

A retreat in paradise
Villa Papelillos is a beautiful retreat just 30 mins from Sayulita, and very close to the cute town of San Pancho. The sunset and sunrise views here are just incredible. The kitchen is well appointed, and after stocking up at Costco in PV, we were able to make many meals with a fresh breeze and views of the pool and ocean. In summer, the pool is a fantastic temperature for laps, and great for relaxing in the evenings with a drink. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The property was kept immaculate, even after big rainstorms that took down trees and left leaves everywhere. I definitely recommend renting an SUV, as the road to Villa Papelillos is unpaved, and the path from the gate to the house is steep and can be slippery during rains. I also recommend booking a dinner made by Francisco - the food was absolutely delicious and the drinks were free flowing. A huge highlight of the trip. During summer, there were many large insects at night (some cool fireflies too), so bring bug spray. We mostly went up to our rooms after 9 pm, so it wasn't a huge problem. Carlos was a great host, and made our vacation super special.

Weekend getaway
This home is hidden in the hills and was a perfect place for what my family and friends were looking for in a home. The views in the backyard are amazing. We enjoyed the pool every evening. The housekeeping kept the home clean and tidy which felt very comforting once we came back to the home from an outing. The cook Marisol makes the best white rice and green chicken enchiladas. Overall the food was great and the home was beautiful. Really great stay and my friends and family including myself were very happy to stay here. I would recommend this beautiful home to anyone traveling to Rivera Nayarit.

Our second visit - Such a magical place
This was our second visit to this remarkable property and enjoyed our time even more that the first time (did not think that could be possible). The location is outside of the ‘main’ tourist areas but so close (Less than minutes by car) to Lo de Marcos or San Pancho. This makes for a VERY beautiful and relaxing stay. The staff was terrific - very attentive and kind. Everything was kept in tip top shape and any request we had was met with a smile and a quick response. This is fast becoming our favorite place to stay in the region - we’ll be back!

Spectacular spot in the canopy of the jungle
I can’t say enough about the beauty of this house and its surroundings. My family from my mother to my son were struck by it and we all can’t wait to come back. My kids learned to boogie board down at the beautiful cove beach about 15 minutes down the road and we all enjoyed lounging at the beautiful clean pool and great meals in San Pancho for dinner. Don’t miss the massages that Carlos can arrange for you at the house or Chef Francisco who will come and prepare a multi course meal. Everything was perfect!

25th Anniversary in Paradise
The property exceeded expectation in so many ways from the view to the birds to the staff to the onsite chef to...the list goes on and on. Carlos was amazing with arrangements and a great resource. If you like indoor/outdoor living in luxury at its best, then VP is for you.

Stop searching VRBO, this is your place!
I did extensive research on VRBO before booking 16 people for my husband’s milestone birthday. I’ll spare you a good two hours of research and start my review with the punchline - stop searching and book this place! The home is located about 15 minutes by car from Sayulita on top of a secluded hill. The staff were spectacular and kept our home clean and fully stocked. Carlos (the manager) pre-arranged a grocery shop so we arrived to cold beers and enough food for several days. Carlos was exceptional with his communication and I was never left feeling like our questions (however random) were not addressed. The home is stunning and we are picky! Each room is well kept and there are two master suites. The bugs do come out at night which is to be expected in the jungle. Pack bug spray, you will be fine. Lastly, rent a car. You will want one for town runs or to drive up the big hill following a day at the private beach. Enjoy, and we cannot wait to return!

Absolutely amazing and architecturally stunning!!
We were group of 8 traveling to San Pancho for a family reunion and stayed at Villa Papelillos. I’m not sure what i can that hasn’t been said already but this property is stunning!! The setting, the placement on the land and the views of the ocean and tropical forests are amazing !!The home is spectacular and luxurious in its design simplicity. Everything was there that was needed to make our stay comfortable.Carlos was great communicating on a regular basis how our stay was and any issues that arose. Diego,Veronica and Sergio were great.We also had amazing cooked meals by Christina. The villa is outstanding architecturally with everything you would need to make things comfortable.The pool is amazing and a welcome respite after a day either at the beach down the dirt road or the main playa in San Pancho.We loved the town of San Pancho and the many great restaurants it has.The house is off the beaten path down a bumpy dirt road but the destination is well worth it.We never felt the need for the AC and had the open windows to listen to the distant sounds of the ocean and the morning sounds of the birds. I highly recommend this great place!! I’m sure we will be back!!

Paradise!! For the entire week we could not believe we were staying in such a beautiful place!
From the moment we arrived, we were amazed at the beauty, the comfort, and the amazing staff. We woke each morning to either yoga on the roof with amazing views or a walk down to the beach. The beach is private, owned by a nice family, but they allow people to enjoy it, just asking that you are respectful and clean up after yourselves. The pool at the house was wonderful and refreshing. Sitting under the trees and seeing whales was such a treat! We ordered two cook services and the chef service once (all provided by a kind culinary magician named Geronimo). It was really nice to have dinner prepared after a long day of traveling. All the meals were phenomenal, and came with welcome left overs. I suggest you hit the mega grocery store for the many meats, seafood, and other groceries in PV before coming to the house. The local markets are nice, and have some food, but not a ton. We ended up 'not' having a rental car, which worked out well. Carlos had a phone for us to use to call the taxis, and they know where you are. Ended up being cheaper than the rental car, but we would only go into the various towns once a day. The house has everything you need, really comfortable beds, lots of space to be together or catch some alone time. We had 9 people and there was plenty of room for everyone. Carlos, Sergio, Diega, and the rest of the staff was so wonderful, quick to respond to any needs. Highly recommend!

Beautiful remote jungle oasis
Incredible stay at Villa Papelillos. Carlos (the home host) was very responsive and accommodated every request we had. I hosted a yoga retreat for 4 days and my guests were so impressed with the location and the home. I do recommend to rent an SUV if you plan to go into town (San Pancho or Sayulita) for groceries, drinks, snacks, etc. The house is very secluded (which worked for my retreat). We hired the cook service for breakfast and the chef for lunch and dinner. Everyone was very professional. Thank you Carlos for finding a masseuse (two actually) on such short notice. They were INCREDIBLE and so sweet. If you're thinking to book this home, DO IT! My recommendations are to book the cook service and/or chef, rent an SUV (for grocery runs and such), book a massage (worth it!) and get a day pass at the beach bungalows down the road to be able to use their kayaks, beach tables and chairs. Oh and if you plan to walk to the beach from the house..I recommend to wear tennis shoes or secured sandals.

A Special Place
I will add another glowing review to the long list. We visited the last week of March 2018. The villa and our experience exceeded my high hopes. It is even more beautiful than the photos reveal. And the photos do not show the surrounding countryside - not another building to be seen, only hillsides, mountains, trees and the Pacific. Also, the beach below is a (nearly private) treasure of its own. The property is safe, clean, and perfect for a large group (we had three multigenerational families). Carlos was very responsive to our needs and questions, Diega and Marisol cooked us excellent meals with warm smiles, and Sergio kept the grounds spotless and answered lots of questions in English when we our poor Spanish failed us. Carlos hired for us a trio of guitarists that sang us Mexican songs one evening. We were glad that we had rented SUVs rather than sedans for the bumpy unpaved road. We had no problem with bugs. Filtered drinking water eliminated that problem. It's close enough to get to neighboring towns if you want. Sunsets viewed from the roof, brilliant stars in a clear sky, plunging into the pool, the rhythmic sound of the surf at night, waking to songbirds in the morning -- Villa Papelillos bathes the soul in beauty and serenity.

Wonderful stay with amazing hospitality!
I selected Villa Papelillos as my 30th birthday destination and along came 10 of my closest friends. I planned the entire trip and worked directly with Carlos the property manager. He was absolutely amazing and helpful in every way possible. It was my first time booking a house in Mexico and not staying at a resort but I felt that his service, hospitality and promptness was equivalent to a 5-star resort concierge. Any request I tossed at him, he helped execute with no problems and within less than 24 hours! The house itself is very secluded about a 10 minute drive off the beaten path. The nearest town is San Pancho but Sayulita and Punta Mita are a short 30 minute drive away. Other than there being a lot of bugs (which what can you do if you're in the Jungle in Mexico!) it was absolutely perfect. All the meals cooked by Flor was beyond delicious and we had a special Mezcal tasting and chef dinner which was a memorable experience. I had a great time celebrating my 30th birthday here. My only comment to other guests would be to bring bug spray! and try to have all of our meals prepared so you really can relax and enjoy your stay. I am really glad that we selected all the meals and had them prepared so that was one less thing to worry about. Also Flor makes the best margaritas. There is so much fresh fruit in this town that you must indulge in some of her fresh Mango Margaritas! Thank you again to Carlos, Flor, Deiga and the rest of the Villa Papelillos staff.
