We stayed 5 nights in Methoni and 2 at Fiona's other property up in the olive groves of Gialova. Both were fantastic and a great mix and match for our wonderful holiday in the Peloponnese.
Our Methoni stay felt as traditional as it gets! A beautifully rustic and welcoming home with loads of space and character. Lizards in the gorgeous back garden, church bells at regular(ish) intervals and comfy beds in cool rooms.
Best of all, Fiona was bang on time for check in, charming, warm, funny and full of great suggestions for things to do locally.
Despite my best intentions, life on holiday with three children means I still haven't finished Gerald Durrell's 'My Family and Other Animals' but a small part of me felt like I'd lived a bit of that same simple, curious, life staying at this wonderful house in a charming seaside setting.
Thank you Fiona, we hope to meet again.
