A beautiful Tiny House right in the heart of Sunland Estates on River Drive SW surrounded by the Columbia River (lake Wanapum) gorge with a large, shared grass lawn and water access.
If you’re not familiar with Sunland Estates, it’s on the river like Crescent Bar, but much more quaint and is only 6 miles by road from The Gorge outdoor concert venue and Cave B Winery. Sunland Estates even has a shuttle bus for concerts at The Gorge.
Sunland has a convenience/general store called Captain Ron’s, a boat launch at Rattlesnake Cove, a swimming area although you can swim anywhere in the river, and a huge grass lawn area right on the river, all within easy walking distance. That said, everyone drives a golf cart in Sunland which adds to the quaintness. It’s definitely a unique and very friendly community experience in an incredibly beautiful setting, and right next to The Gorge! You can also access the river directly from the lot the Tiny House is on.
The Tiny House is even more quaint. It is about 230 square feet with everything a couple needs for a getaway weekend or remote working week, with or without going to a concert at The Gorge. The lot is shared with 2 RV parking spots that may or may not be occupied during your stay.
The front door is a 6’ French door that opens outwards and the doors can be secured open if you like. It has a cozy living room area with a couch and large Roku TV that swivels around 360 degrees. In front of the couch is a coffee table that lifts up to bring your glass of wine and dark chocolate covered almonds closer to you😊
The kitchen has a bar height table with 4 stools that can be moved around, butcher block counter tops, 2 burner induction stove top, combo microwave/air fryer/convection over, full sink, large retro style fridge and a Keurig coffer maker.
The bedroom is a loft above the living area with a premium memory foam queen size mattress where you will feel like you are sleeping in a cozy nest.
The bathroom has a regular shower and sink with a decent sized hot water heater, washer/dryer and an incinerating toilet. Yes, you heard it right, it burns everything at 1200 degrees after you "flush".
There is a heater and an air conditioner which is a must in the summer. The walls are all tongue and groove knotty pine and cedar in the bathroom.
Bring paddleboards or kayaks as the river is just a short walk, nothing between you and the river. Since Sunland is on the river, you descend down 700’ of switchbacks to get to it, which means you can hike up those switchbacks for an awesome workout and then hike any direction on the “benches” towards The Gorge to the north or Frenchman Coulee to the south. You might see deer, quail, and chukar but probably not a rattlesnake as they keep to themselves and are super chill. I’ve never seen one, so consider yourself lucky if you do!
You won’t want to leave.
