Fairytale Thatched 18th Century Cornish Cottage with Hot Tub & Stunning Gardens
‘The Lodge’ is a beautiful Grade II Listed detached 18th Century retreat, which was once a gateway into the Tehidy Country Park Estate.
Set within a magical sylvan setting and situated with Tehidy Woods and Golf Club on the doorstep, this enchanting thatched period property is only a five minute drive to the award winning, dog friendly beach of Portreath, as well as only a short drive to the A30 where you will be able to conveniently explore some of the wonders that Cornwall has to offer.
Sleeping up to 4, with established gardens overflowing with flora and wildlife, and a hot tub for relaxing after a days adventuring,
Things to note:
The garden has been fenced and is dog secure up to standard wall/fence height. Due to the nearby road and woodland we would recommend dogs are not left unaccompanied in the garden
The second bedroom is very small and although there are two single beds which can be put together as a King size, space is very limited in The Lodge and we would recommend suitable for 2 adults and 2 children, or 3 adults.
There is a large lockable shed in the garden if you wish to bring bikes or other outdoor equipment with you.
The surroundings enjoy rich rolling countryside, and local amenities can be found in Illogan, where you can dine at Robartes Arms, order in from Manha Spice and Cousin Jack’s Fish & Chips, stock up on essentials at the convenience store, or picnic in Illogan Park. Continue to Redruth, where you will find the Red Lion, Miners Arms, the fascinating Kresen Kernow, and the historic National Trust site of East Pool Mine. For a day at the beach, The Harris Mill Farm Shepherd Huts are just moment’s away from Portreath, where you can bathe on the golden sands of Porthreath Beach, tuck-in to fresh seafood at The Terrace Restaurant, or enjoy idyllic stroll around the harbour. Further afield, you can enjoy the delights of Truro with its magnificent cathedral, Royal Cornwall Museum, and excellent golf club, or continue onto Newquay, home to Newquay Zoo, a plethora of beautiful beaches and Blue Reef Aquarium
