Lovely location, disappointing experience
TL;DR: We had a great visit and a lovely stay in Maroulas. But overall we did not feel very welcomed to the property. It just didn't feel like the space was ready for us, and many of the amenities we were looking forward to were broken.
This is a very beautiful property in a great location. The unit is unique with a lovely view. Our group of 7 was a bit disappointed as the listing did not match the property in several ways:
Many of the amenities were broken and/or unusable (jacuzzi, steam shower, downstairs kitchen, oven, dryer, TV, many lights throughout), and some necessities were not provided (hand soap, trash bin liners, dishwasher detergent, oven). The downstairs kitchen had a very strong mustiness and the fridge was the only working appliance down there.
Our check in process happened to be chaotic, which made it very difficult to receive keys to all the rooms and to understand the expectations of the property.
Guests should be aware that the number of rooms available depends on the number of guests in the booking. We had booked this villa specifically because it listed 5 rooms-- when we arrived we were informed that only 4 rooms had been made available. The host kindly opened the 5th bedroom to us free of charge, and we cleaned it and made the beds ourselves.
Upon our arrival several of the common spaces had clearly not been cleaned in a while, and the host had those areas recleaned for us, as well.
