This home is in the middle of a vineyard and it was so peaceful. There were some cows in the next field and sheep in the other one, and vineyards all around. The views are incredible. Sitting out on the deck every day was a joy. A couple small things… the master bedroom upstairs only has one vent in the floor for the air conditioner, and it was covered up by a rug. You can pull the rug back so that the vent is able to get air through and fortunately, it cools down at night. But at night there was a constant machine running, and I could not understand what it was so I went outside and looked and along the side of the house where all the bedrooms are there is a radon mitigation system. The fan/motor runs 24/7. I’ve never heard of that before, so I googled it and I guess in some states, Oregon being one, there’s problems with radon in the ground? This is a whole new thing for me and in googling, a lot of people who did have a mitigation system complain that the motor/fan ran too loud and other people had the problem where it was outside their bedroom and it bothered them while they slept. They did say you can get new fans for those things that are super quiet, so maybe that might be something this homeowner could look into. It was a slight bummer, because I was looking forward to the really good quiet out there, there’s nobody around, no cars on the road, no light pollution, but that motor was going all night, all day. Other than that, a great house.
